Title: Modarchive.org downtime/catastrophic disk failure

On 29th March 2014 the worst case data loss scenario occurred, our RAID system had both disks fail at exactly the same time which meant the entire site and other services hosted on it were (and still are) affected. Due to diligently made backups, we suffered no major loss of data. The most inconvenience has been having to rebuild server configuration from scratch as some of it was well out of the scope of the backup.

We are missing about 60 modules which were uploaded between 27th and 29th March 2014, so if you noticed yours have gone missing from the processing queue, please re-upload them.

Unfortunately the site isn't fully operational yet as some systems are still being tested to make sure they behave normally. You may notice some features have a popup which mentions the area is in lockdown. This is normal.

Meanwhile, in parallel to rebuilding the server from scratch, the original broken disks have been shipped to an associate to try and see if it is possible to get some of the data for other services retrieved.

If you spot an anomaly on the site, please report it on the forum, we will have a look at it.

Dang, so that was the reason of the entire site being down these days. I was beginning to worry and fear the worst case D: .

Let's hope you can at least recover something from the disks.
