Are these even modules? I'm pretty sure they are (the dude who made the videos said he uses modules for background music.) Any help finding the tunes would be appreciated!

Post by: Axxy on June 14, 2014, 11:32:39: For the first two video's, definitely modules. They both sound really familiar and I can't for the life of me remember what they are or who they are by. The last two, probably some tracker music but I didn't recognise the tunes, especially the chiptune playing.

First song in first video is Aquaphobia by Purple Motion (http://modarchive.org/module.php?32382)
Second video is Zoolrave by Patrick Phelan (http://modarchive.org/module.php?64074).
Most of the stuff in the 3rd video sounds like MIDI recordings from early 90s ROMplers.
4th video is Unreeeal Superhero by rez (http://modarchive.org/module.php?149252) (famous chiptune :D)
For the rest, it can't hurt to ask the video uploader.

Any help finding it would be appreciated. I have asked the dude who made the video multiple times what the tune is and he has not replied.

Post by: Saga Musix on June 17, 2014, 11:09:14: Doesn't sound like Purple Motion to me at all. It sounds like a relatively early ('89-'90) MOD to me. Maybe even by Patrick Phelan since Zoolrave has similar samples, but then again everyone was using those samples back them.

Post by: ncovert on June 17, 2014, 14:27:54: I thought it may have been PM since it sounds like more than 4 channels, sounds like there's a drum loop in the background, and the heavy use of voice samples. But you have been listening to modules longer than I have, so your guess is more accurate.

Post by: Saga Musix on June 17, 2014, 16:55:44: Nah, it's most definitely four channels, and the drum samples are pretty much the same as in Zoolrave, so they definitely fit nicely in a single channel. Voice samples weren't uncommon even back then. The "mu mu" vocal sample is from KLF - What Time Is Love (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=28w2LVzxVkU&t=55), but I reckon that doesn't make it much easier to find the tune. Maybe it would help to post this question on pouet.net, since there are a lot more people there who know all these old mods...
