Title: Anybody know the names of these MOD files?
Post by: Krellion on July 16, 2014, 05:13:54
Hello,

Can anyone tell me if these musical MOD files sound familiar?  They were taken from audio cassettes when i recorded them in the early 90s.  Even though I remember what some of the names of the files were I have never been able to find them.  My guess is their titles were changed or they are now lost to time....

If anyone knows, could you please point me to where I can get the module?  ;D

https://soundcloud.com/grinninglich/virus (https://soundcloud.com/grinninglich/virus)   Was called VIRUS.MOD
https://soundcloud.com/grinninglich/dental (https://soundcloud.com/grinninglich/dental)  Was called DENTAL.MOD
https://soundcloud.com/grinninglich/old-wave-classical (https://soundcloud.com/grinninglich/old-wave-classical)  Pretty sure it was called CLASSICAL.MOD

You sure they are all .mod files?

The first two sound pretty close to your typical 1989 SoundTracker module, so I don't see a reason to assume otherwise. However, the third one is most definitely an AdLib tune. I doubt that someone sampled the FM chip, it's more likely that it's played directly on it.

I don't know why, but I guessed they might have been filtered, because age plus tape didn't come into mind.
