Title: Howdy everyone...
Post by: =DTM=Ace on October 27, 2006, 20:11:15
There was a time, many many Windows ago, when I used to run with Mod4Win on Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.  I stumbled across this site while looking for something completely different, and I flipped out.  I have since then downloaded the Mod4Win player 2.4...  I can't believe it works under XP just fine.  Loaded up some mods, a few from here a vola!  Instant nostalgia...

This is a nice setup you guys have, and I appreciate it being a place to find this stuff!

More for later, when I get time. I rarely have any these days.

Thanks,

Heh, it's good that you have returned to the world of modules. It's alive, definitelly, and there's a lot of trackers out there, including myself. If you are fed up with Mod4Win (wow! I'd like to get my hands on that one!) or want to try something new, be sure to check out trackers like MilkyTracker, ModPlug Tracker, Impulse Tracker, FastTracker II (the last two does not work on Windows NT, 2000 or XP, sadly but true.) and many other goodies.

Oh, and I almost forgot; welcome to the ModArchive Community Forums, leave your sanity at the door and enjoy your stay! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome.  I saw you guys have a link for the Mod4Win, but that it didn't work.  I ended up searching the web for the zip file, found it on a UK site.  Couldn't read the language, but was able to download it.  I would be more than happy to get you a link, (Once I find it again) or updload it to you.. Which ever.

The only reason I ever even thought of it, was it was the same one I used to use, many years ago.  I was suprised it still works, however your XP drivers have to have a DOS option.  My laptop, for example, will not let it work, as it is a WDM driver only, with no DOS settings.  :s

If it's not too much of a hassle, you could send me the program through e-mail. Preferably in a ZIP archive.

If you have some modules uploaded on the modarchive, I would be glad to hear them. Perhaps even review them. :)

I sent it on to you, as a zip.  Let me know if you have problems.  Probably the only Mod Player I am familar with from my brief mod history.  :D

Welcome to MA....

Mod4Win... Nostalgia trip.

Does that play .xm (32 channel) or .it modules (properly)...

For windoze based machines, Modplug or XMPlay players would seem a better choice. If your only listening to .mod format, Mod3Win is ok.

This happened to me.  Just dont put text in the Subject header or it creates a new thread.  I orginally had replied to the introduction thread and it made a new one, was not my idea... lol

Wouldn't send the reply without a subject, no matter how many times I tried.

It's plausible that you accidently hit the new topic button rather than the reply one. As you can see, the 2 threads are again 1.

Is there a FAQ of posting to forums? Can't think I've ever done that on a forum before, if I did. Probably old age methinks.
