You should be able to turn off interpolation in the online player. I don't see a reason not to have that option.

The reason for not having that feature is that it's better that way. No, seriously, if I had the time and motivation, I would work on the online player more, but alas I don't at the moment. It was never meant to be a fully-fletched player that replaces a proper offline player like XMPlay with a rich feature set.
