Title: Where could I find this archive
Post by: g24874 on August 19, 2019, 08:14:12
So while dumping all the junk from MUSIX.LIB into the archive, I came across several songs that mentioned a "DELERIOUS music disk" in their notes:

L-LOVE.S3M

03 By loki / trace elements
04 1995/(C)left sock inc.
05 this was produced for
06 the DELERIOUS music disk.
07 Which was started by
08 Dj_moses! thanx 4 puttin

L-MAJIK.S3M

07         Released on the
08    D e L e R i O u S
09         M u s I K
0a   D i s K E e ! ! ! !

P3-ASYNC.S3M

1f .  written by John Fiket  .
20 .  ... aka The Pope [p3]  .
21 . ....  of Mistigris/iS   .
22 . ...   ................. .
23 .   for D E L E R I O U S .

Well, some of the music was alright, but I'm kinda curious now about what this disk looked like and what else was on it. Literally the only other mention I found of it was in some DemoNews newsletter (https://resources.openmpt.org/resources/demonews122.txt):

=-------------------------------------------------------------[Music:General]-=
Location /demos/music             Size Rated Description
=-------------------------------- ---- ----- ---------------------------------=
/disks/1995/d/delri-1.zip         1125 **    Delerious Music Disk - Disk 1
/disks/1995/d/delri-2.zip         1443 **    Delerious Music Disk - Disk 2

Of course it says "All files listed are on ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos" and of course that site is long dead. Anyone happen to have an archive, or just general notes of what these disks were like?

It looks like it came from the Hornet archive or something similar.  I had a quick look around but found no reference to the disk. Might be lost in the grand scheme of things.

But, some old archives still exist over at Scene.org, https://files.scene.org/browse/

There's not much interface anymore, but contains 1000s of archived scene releases, especially in the Mirrors folder...

Happy hunting!
