If you type certain characters like <, posting the comment will result in the character itself and the text beyond not getting included.

Noticed that while commenting on module recently

Just to make it clear, no, it was not possible to inject arbitrary HTML. The filter was just a bit too overzealous with removing stuff that might have looked like HTML.
