Title: NitroTracker-unofficial (updated fork)
Post by: asie on July 09, 2020, 17:22:26
Hello!

For the past two weeks or so, I've been working on a fork of NitroTracker, bringing some crucial improvements and updates, as well as combining patches from existing forks by @fincs and @reinvdwoerd.

Today, I'd like to publish the first release: NitroTracker-unofficial 0.4.1-beta, with its key higlights being full DSi/3DS support (in DSi mode), an added undo/redo buffer, many minor workflow improvements, and an UI performance boost.

I hope that those (few) of you who still use NitroTracker, or perhaps want to try it out for the first time, will find the update beneficial.

hello, that's great news. all i can see on that site is source code though? how do you compile it? is there a way for you to compile the program for non-technical people please? does the new version take advantage of the DSI 16mb of ram? is it possible to add .mod file support? so it can play, edit, and save amiga .mods? also are you planning to add audio FX like delay, reverb, flanger, phaser, autopan, etc? thank you very much. i just ordered a DSI and i have the r4 card already so im really looking forward to using this. because this post is a few months old i hope you dont mind if i PM this message to you too. btw if you have a paypal i would happily donate 10 british pounds to you towards your hardwork. im sure lots of other musicians would like to donate if they only knew about this update! also is gameboy support being planned? thank you very much for your hard work.

if you scroll down on that page a bit, there is a link "NitroTracker-unofficial-0.4.1-beta.zip" which contains the binary.

It's been a while, but I'm still updating this fork from time to time, thanks to a healthy supply of community feedback (not much of a musician myself, I've always wanted to try but found it a little intimidating to start...).

Here's a highlight of the changes from 0.4.1 to 0.4.4:

Created an account on this forum just to thank you for keeping NitroTracker alive and for this latest update!
It's been many years since I picked up the DS. I'm excited to get back in to NT!
the "lock" option and file selector improvements were always something I wished for!
Cheers!

I was thinking about continuing NitroTracker's development myself, but saw your fork being recently worked on. Super excited for this development to continue! I may be able to help contribute; I'll have a look at the source code and see.

One feature that would be incredible to have would be pattern effect commands! Especially Delay, and Pitch Bend Up/Down. Also adding a Pitch EG for each instrument, instead of only having an Amp EG.

Anyway, thank you so much for your work! I made an account just to post here!  ;D

I know others have said it, but thanks for continuing to work on this!
i was wondering if there is a nitrotracker community somewhere that is active?
ive been trying to get into using it and i'd love to experiment with the more complex features but im not very technically literate in terms of coding or whatever.

Thanks!
