Title: Some issue with my module stuck in pending for second week...
Post by: laffik on July 12, 2022, 09:02:37
Bonjour trackers!

My trivial scherzo module (Laffik - Marynarze.DBM) got stuck in second opinion for another week. Probably it is suspected for some copyright issues.

To make work easier to you, our lovely admins, I would like to state that the drum loop (only suspicious and characteristic sample), which probably could had brought your attention, is part of samplepack named "Jungle Warfare CD.1", which I bought legally from Zero-G ten years ago (unavailable now). For your reference, name of the loop is "Recoil". Samplepack purchase includes legal licence for use and publication in compositions. (TBH in modules loops and samples are available also as a separate samples, without composition... is this an issue?  ??? I don't know what is opinion of Zero-G about modules, frankly, do they even know what module is ???)

If anything was found unusual there, please let me know, i. e. here, or by e-mail!

 ;D

I hope you will push the module to released shortly, especially after this explanation.

Greetings to you!

Sorry for the long turnaround times - currently I don't have much time to look at the screening queue, so stuff in the 2nd opinion queue might be stuck for longer than usual. I had a look and the drum loop is probably not the issue for copyright reasons, but it might indeed be the reason why a second opinion was requested for another reason: The timing appears to be a bit off when played through OpenMPT or xmp-openmpt (which is usually used for screening). Normally OpenMPT's timing for DigiBooster modules should be fairly accurate so I'm not sure what exactly is going on there, but I will have to investigate. Obviously this won't stop the module from being added to the archive.

Ah! That's cool, I mean it's better, than I expected...

If you want, I may drop some .wav or .mp3 render, for help/reference...

Just let me know.

Nah, as said I can confirm that it plays correctly in DBPro so I can do all the necessary recordings myself - but thanks for the offer!
