So I've been out of tracking for a few years, what with the demise of DOS and FT2. I just discovered Milkytracker last week and am all gung-ho to get back into songwriting again, but my XI instrument library is, understandably, outdated. Can anyone point me to a good site for XI samples/instruments, or whatever type of instrument it is that Milkytracker uses for FT2 mode?
Thanks a bunch,
m19

Wow this post is really old!
Damn! LoL
You need to get rid of that...what did you call it?..."Milkytracker"? and get the ModPlugTracker and learn to use it instead!
Here is a link to download it.
http://www.sonicspot.com/modplugtracker/modplugtracker.html
[EDIT]That's first off but where to get your XI samples/instruments which the ModPlug Tracker is perfectly capable of reading, importing, and using...um...Google is your friend!
Here:

Hope This Helps! HTH! ;)

How is that an old post? I just made it a couple week ago.
And no, that didn't help at all actually. Note I didn't ask for your opinion on MT nor a lesson in using Google. So, basically, you just posted a bunch of nonsense.

Well, I don't know where you can grab yourself XIs, but there are some good SF2 around and WAV samples which you could use.
I don't remember the URL, but look in the sample forum for a topic about this sample site which got loads of samples. You should be able to find it fairly easy.
@Wanderer: Tracker chooise is a matter or personal appeal. I see you like MPT, but bear in mind it's not "the ultimate tracker". UltimateTracker is! :P

Well, there's always Kiarchive:

Though I have the whole archive, I can't say I'd use the instruments much - Most of the samples just sound too artificial. It's still worth of downloading because there are a few jewels in there.
Also, if one can provide me the webspace (200~250mb), I can upload Claymore's old instruments that he had collected from various soundfonts etc (iti and xi formats) once again. It'd be the 5th or the 6th time I've uploaded them, so if I am going to do it once more, I'll have to ask the host to *keep the samples uploaded for public download*- I'm very sick and tired of sending them to individuals, as no one cares to keep them up for more than two days at max.

ceekayed: My webspace is (nearly) unlimited ... and i already have a small sample collection there. so if you want to put some online, send me a pm or meet me at #modarchive ;)

@Jojo & Ceekayed: Yes, do get Claymore's old instruments up somewhere; I'm interested in grabbing that too, now.
@Morgan: I think the archive Eagle may have been referring to is theFreeSoundProject (http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/) -- Even if that isn't the one he was talking about, it is a good place to get lots of interesting stuff. They're not .xi instruments though, so I know it didn't really answer your request. Sorry. :)

Aye, that's the website I thought of. :)

I'm very sorry Morgan19! but you are right, I was condescending! Still I think you should give MPT a try? ;-) Sorry again, I truely didn't mean to be that way, I just thought MPT would help you out more is all.
Welcome to the forums and cheers!
