Title: Can't Adjust Volume

So I've been able to get some sound samples and put together a very rough 4 bar song, but I am now trying to do some of the effects such as volume, vibrato, etc.  When I try to edit the note it asks me for the Hex of the instrument, which I input, but then it won't let me alter the volume or effect.  Any help? ???

Don't use your num-pad for the numbers, it is used to quick-select an instrument. Use the numbers above the regular alphabet keys.
