MilkyTracker Tracks & Songs / what.xm - Short chiptune loop
« on: September 12, 2009, 09:19:23 »
One day I was messing around in MilkyTracker, just after struggling with Famitracker, and picking it up nicely, I decided to try some pulse-width changes.  Pretty much, this is what I got, in the attachment.  I resampled the chip samples using Amiga 500 LED resampling, because they make the sound a little more pleasant, I think.

EDIT: Oops, forgot the file.  Here it is.

I've written some chiptunes recently that I just ended up sticking on a loop, because it worked better than anything else I had at the time, but that might or might not apply to the situation at hand.  I usually just slap together what sounds good, and get something averaging from a minute and a half to two minutes, three if it's a particularly productive day.  :-\

Thanks, guys.  Raina, that was it.  I fixed it thanks to somebody in the IRC channel.

Mod, I'll remember ls -a if it happens again, and I need to find a config file.

I just installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix on my new Asus eee 1000ha, and then installed MilkyTracker using apt-get.  So, it ran as it should, I played around with the settings, and got the settings right and everything.  Shortly after, I decide to get Milky to display in fullscreen, which I did several times in different resolutions, and they worked, until I went to a setting that exceeded the native resolution of the monitor (1024x600).  I'm sure that there's a configuration file somewhere to delete, but I can't seem to find it in the file system via a search for "milkytracker."  I reinstalled Milkytracker, and it still wouldn't run properly (I uninstalled through Add/Remove Applications).  So, what do I need to do to get MilkyTracker running as it should?

A note: I went to the System Monitor, and checked under the Processes tab, and started MilkyTracker via Applications -> Sound & Video -> MilkyTracker, and the process didn't even appear.

I sent 0xtob a beta request, and he said that due to his lack of time for the project, it's on hold.

It was released 13 months ago, Synthesis.

Go to FreeSound.  All of their sounds are free, but you have to register, which is free.

Bad joke, only I got it...

It's disorganized because it was made over a month (or was it two?), on nights I couldn't sleep.  So, after rolling over for four hours, I'd do a pattern.

MilkyTracker Feature Requests / Re: IT functionality someday?
« on: May 18, 2009, 11:54:12 »
Nice to know I'm not the only one thinking about this.

Do you mean Milkytracker ditching XM and going to IT, or being able to support IT and XM?  It sounds like the second, which would be awesome.  But, wouldn't there need to be an extensive overhaul on the UI for IT features?  And, a compatibility check, like the MOD export.
