Meh. The GUI layout never bothered me when switching after 10 years of using FT2. A carbon copy would also probably not work on portable devices using the 320x240 resolution tiny GUI (which still isn't separate from the desktop one). It really doesn't depend on looks, MilkyTracker already is the best FT2 clone available for Windows, OS X, GNU/Linux, *BSD...

When you choose to save the module as .wav, the next thing you'll see is the recording panel. This allows you to select the resampler, resolution, pattern range and what have you. You can use the range From and To values to select a specific section of the song for export.

You have to click disk op. and the tiny FLIP button in the corner to be able to change the saved song format to .wav. If you enable the internal file browser, this view pops up automatically every time.

Have you tried the Jam page and minimizing the piano keyboard? That's the fullest view available at the moment. There will be more releases but I don't know if this will make the todo list.
