Hello there, nice to see you and to hear your story.

May I suggest also checking out MilkyTracker which makes a real effort to be FT2 compatible and as a native application, might perform better on your Eee than FT2 under emulated DOS environment.

Makes me think of Aztec Challenge on the Commodore 64.

Well, I didn't find the intro very interesting, so skipping that. In the actual song, the rhythmic side seems to be working fine but from a melodic standpoint this track is pretty tiring, to me at least. But like you said you weren't aiming for "pleasant" anyway. :)

I'm not crazy about the arpeggios and the panning went a little overboard at places in the finished version. But nicely varied and long for a firstie. I like your use of different instruments, and the main melody.

The -28 thing comes from Fasttracker II. I think F-6/-28 is what you get when you load a 44100Hz sample.

and now for the stupid part of this post: i am interested in writing a "milky explained kind of a doc"...
anyone up with me before getting off topic now?...
I think that would fall under the planned wiki user's guide. It has its perks compared to a monolithic document, where updates depend on a single person's motivation. I think this is further emphasized by the spare time nature of the project. Naturally you (and everybody) else would be more than welcome to contribute to it.

OK, it works like this:
When you enter a new note in the pattern editor, the currently selected instrument will not be used. Instead, the instrument of the preceding note on the same channel will be "inherited".
Thanks, I'd also forgotten what the hell that did. ;)
