MilkyTracker Support / Do Fasttracker II Effects work in MilkyTracker without the GUI? Please help :(

Ive been reading the Fasttracker Manual on their main site because Milkytracker is based on FT2 and it's been really helping me, But in the effects part of the book, to change the volume slider using just effects for the channel (i hope this makes sense) You change the secondary tempo to 06 (I'm guessing the primary tempo is the BPM, and the secondary is the spd) Please let me know if i'm wrong.
So i changed spd to 06 and it says after loading up a song i need to add the effect command "A" and after, in the effect parameters should be 0F, so (as an example) on the first line of the channel (00) i should have...
C4 1 A 0F

And the volume when the effect takes place, should decrease.
Am i doing it right? Because the effect isnt working for me at all.

The manual is from 1999 and from what i can see, everything that certain effects can do, can be done with the GUI.

What am i doing wrong?

Please help me guys, i can't go any further in the manual because i feel like i need to know this

P.s, Just one more Question. on the channel editor, what the difference between the blue digits and the green digit's, i know the green digit's change the volume but isnt that the same as the blue ones?

MilkyTracker Community / It's Just not working out for me :(

I've been using Milkytracker for about, Just under a week now.
and iv'e got the hang of the basic click & insert notes. But all my notes seem out of tune & all jumbled up, and it seems like a complete mess of an 8-bit song.

I keep trying by changing the different types of notes, some don't even play at all and the other's just make more of a mess of the sound.

Are there any beginner tutorials, I've read the sticky on here and that got me going good
I just need a little further boost 

The video's on Youtube don't really go in depth as too what does what on Milky, and Milkytracker.net is down.

Can anyone suggest any good beginner guides

I'm completly new to the whole 8-bit/chip tune creation.
I've used Fruity loops and reason 4 in the past, But i see no point in learning how to use those apps, seeing as my main focus on music revolves around old school music

Do you know any good articles i can read to get my started on my Journey?
Like learn all about chip tunes/wave/bit's/noise etc etc, as im clueless.

I'll have a look on wiki, but i find wiki hard to digest imo. xD

Hey Guys, My name is Zubb.
I'm 21 years of age,i grew up in the 8-bit era. Used to own an amiga as a kid and used to use my mum's old spectrum and c64, and have loved oldschool 8-bit music ever since.
I listen to chip tunes nearly everyday, and i decided to start making my own.

Ive started tracking in milkytracker, and learning everyday.

So yeah Hope to have a nice stay here and learn lots more about creating 8-bit sounds

I do however have one question which has been puzzling me for a while.
I want to buy an old gameboy and link it up to my computer to create sounds.

which hardware would i need (and software) to be able to create those cool sounds from an old gameboy.
I know it's possible but i can't find a tutorial anymore 

I hope you guys can help me out.
