In fact, to enter digits in the effects columns, the keys on the upper side of the keyboards must be pressed. On AZERTY keyboards and the latest version of Milkytracker, the SHIFT key must be also pressed in order to enter these digits.
The main problem is that if several digits must be added through the same pattern, the navigation is a bit tedious as the user must release and press SHIFT continuously, otherwise he could slip and change the pattern or the instrument he is currently working on, because of the combinations of SHIFT+arrow keys.
In Fast Tracker II and former versions of Milkytracker, the wrong layout made making modules more easier to do
