This is my second track overall... And the first one with... TWO instruments!

Yay!

Although I tried to simulate 4 people playing them...

But I don't recommend you hear it too much, it may cause suicide and other depressive behavior. (sorry, I composed it while bothered that I could not sleep in the middle of the night while waiting for my sister come home)

Project / Coder's Corner / Re: How crappy is MikMod?

I found this: It is quite interesting, too bad it is only about .it

http://eval.sovietrussia.org/wiki/Player_abuse_tests

Oh, I STILL don't hear much difference (maybe, I don't heard how the music was supposed to sound originally, and using decent speakers...) but I just managed to make MikMod run on my game, and it was a DISASTER, it decided to fade the loop command... the music was one that repeated the last pattern, resulting like if someone did a volume slide from 0 to the max in the pattern... And even more bizarrely, after a alt+tab, the music (was a .mod file) started to stutter like if someone threw a tremor 3 3 in the entire tune, but it also did random clicks, the drums started to play at random, and other crap that resulted only in a freakish drummy cacophony.

Oo I don't noticed any difference... :/

I only noticed difference with MikMod when hearing Alexander Brandon .IT tunes, that tend to stutter like if someone stuck tremor 33 in all channels and all notes...

I think that we should do more research, instead of just all the time saying that MikMod is crap... While looking for information, I found lots of places where people REALLY like MikMod... Something they must be doing right...

Hello!

I know that MikMod is crap, but maybe is my only option in a project, so someone made a list of what stuff MikMod usually screw-up? Specially in the XM format? (IT is hopeless in mikmod seemly :/)

Look what I made! / My first tracked music EVER!!!
« on: July 10, 2010, 19:10:11 »
Hello! Although I hand around, lurk and claim to use trackers since years, in fact I never made a music (I only... opened the software, stared at it, and closed again :P Or done random notes and that is it...)

Today I decided to stop being such a sissy, and do music, and send music, and get bashed, so I know how much I suck and I learn.

I made that... thing... in 1 hour, I could not figure any instrument to use properly, so it has only one, and that one is a generated saw...

Feel free to comment! All you want!

And yes, for now the name will remain "untitled WIP" (later it will cease being WIP, and will have a decent name, and I plan to use on my game)

Wanted: Music for Projects / I need music for my breakout clone!
« on: July 09, 2010, 00:58:30 »
Hello, I am making my first retail game, a breakout clone (that I plan to run at least on Windows, GNU/Linux and Mac when I buy a Mac to build it...)

I released a test version to test gameplay (it is on www.agfgames.com) but all the testers, instead of complaining of the gameplay, complained of the lack of music...

Since I don't have a budget, probably I won't turn profit at all, and the game is not even exactly "retail" (the game is "shareware" but in the way that the game itself is free, and extra stuff, like hints, tips, and levels, are paid instead...), I need composers willing to make .xm and .it files (I plan to implement DUMB on the game... it already supports mikmod, but... meh...), those I will pay if the come up with custom new music (name your price, please!), and I also want donations of old tunes that I can use for free.

So, play the game, and say if you want to help :) If you like the game, please help! (unless you want to play the final version with my programmer music MUHUAHUAHUAHUA!!!)

Just to say that I unlurked, just because I want to support this idea!

The sole reason I am not using Milky for my lastest stuff, is the lack of SF2 support. (and I have found a really awesome SF2 that emulates megadrive sounds...)
