Seems I've gotten it working for me by switching to WaveOut. It took nearly a dozen tries to switch drivers without locking up, but now that I've managed to get it switched it hasn't had problems yet.

Edit: Strangely, sound output is fine on a fresh install of Milky using DirectSound, even though it causes consistent freezing on subsequent startups.

I've tried Milky on several different PCs running Windows 7 and they all freeze if a milkytracker.cfg exists. It seems that the current version simply doesn't work on 7.

I'm getting the same behavior as the OP, but with the Unicode version under Windows 7. Attempting to change audio drivers results in a freeze. In addition, it hangs at startup if a config file exists.

Playback and editing seems to work fine, but not being able to read/write a config means setting all of the options every time and not being able to switch resolutions...
