Well, I might not need that many samples anyways, since I have generators that I can use to make them. I also have tu2, the final version of tuareg. It's pretty cool and I'm currently experimenting with 7/8 beat compositions(inspired by Devo's "Jocko Homo" ). It's all good :D

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!  I love "Devo" the little dudes that wear flower pots on their heads!!!!!  ;-)   If you have "generators" then you are all set to go!  ;-)

Sorry I couldn't help though!

Cheers

How is that an old post? I just made it a couple week ago.

And no, that didn't help at all actually. Note I didn't ask for your opinion on MT nor a lesson in using Google. So, basically, you just posted a bunch of nonsense.

m19

I'm very sorry Morgan19!  but you are right, I was condescending!  Still I think you should give MPT a try?   ;-)  Sorry again, I truely didn't mean to be that way, I just thought MPT would help you out more is all.

Welcome to the forums and cheers!

Hahaha, welcome Wanderer. Aren't you one cheery lad? Why don't yah post a little introduction of yourself in that off-topic forum topic for new people.

Seems like the weather is just as funny over at everyone else. Myself, I'm just irritated that my bicycle is covered in ice and that both the lamp and my bell has been cracked open by ice. Otherwise, we've got quite a pleaseant mild, yet snowy and cold winter with around -4*C (aprox. 39*F) on the day. Made a snowman just for the sake of it. Was a few years ago since there was enough snow around for me to do that. The last 6 years have been a bit too warm, yah know.

I would Eagle if I could write more than 3 bars of this kind of kick ass music that sounds just like what I'm thinking in my head!   ;)

Cheers

Yeah I'll give you, all the trackers out there, and modarchive a great BIG ...........HELLO!   Again I appreciate your efforts as well as those that produce the content of this site!!!   I will respect it as long as I live!!!!

Why hello to you too. :)

I'm personally fed up with the weather around here. This winter seemed nice at first but now it's down to -20 celsius (-4F). And getting colder all the time. Last winter's peak was around -40 in the town where I lived at the time. And it was windy too. *shrugs*

Geeezus Ceekayed!  Damn!  -40????????????????????????????  The next time it gets to -30 F  try taking a cup of boiling water ( um...just out of the microwave and still boiling) then take it outside and just throw it up in the air and watch it hit the ground as snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  ;)

Oh...........you and your music rocks man!!!!!!!!!!!!!    :grinno:  :D

For my own listening pleasure of course!   I'm stingey and I don't want my friends to hear it but if they asked I would point them in your direction!  Damn!  Just realized, I'm actually talking to the famous Ceekayed!!!!!!!!!       8-)     :D   :)    :grinno:

I hear that it rains a lot in the UK and the Netherlands?  If it got cold there a lot also, you'd be in a world of hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ;)

It's rarely not raining in the UK...  :-|

saw an interesting program the other day, apparently we have more tornadoes per land area than anywhere else in the world. About 60 recorded last year.

F**ing crazy British weather

Damn.................Is England way too removed from the UK then?   I heard it rains a lot in England?   Like 2/3rds of the days of the year or something like that?  Tornadoes are scary!  I lived in what's known as "tornado ally" in Tennessee in the USA for 25 years.   I've actually seen 12 tornadoes and heard 16 of them in that quarter of a century!   In 1999 a tornado ripped a piece of tin roof off my house and destroyed about one eighth of Clarksville Tennessee while I was at work!  It knocked out the power at work in Erin Tennessee and I had nothing else to do at that point but go out and see and hear what was happening!  That was only one of the 16 that I heard and it even caused me some damage!.  Until then I've never seen winds that blow straight up into the sky but this wind was even taking tree limbs off and they would disappear into the sky!!!!!!!!!!  Now that's scary!!!!!!!!!!  The clouds looked like black bunches of grapes!!!!

Had my share of tornadoes and have seen what kind of damage they can do!  They can rip whole square miles of just wooded trees or whole square miles of cities in one swipe!

You guys rock and take cover out there okay????  LoL

So I've been out of tracking for a few years, what with the demise of DOS and FT2. I just discovered Milkytracker last week and am all gung-ho to get back into songwriting again, but my XI instrument library is, understandably, outdated. Can anyone point me to a good site for XI samples/instruments, or whatever type of instrument it is that Milkytracker uses for FT2 mode?

Thanks a bunch,
m19

Wow this post is really old!

Damn!    LoL

You need to get rid of that...what did you call it?..."Milkytracker"? and get the ModPlugTracker and learn to use it instead!

Here is a link to download it.

http://www.sonicspot.com/modplugtracker/modplugtracker.html

[EDIT]That's first off but where to get your XI samples/instruments which the ModPlug Tracker is perfectly capable of reading, importing, and using...um...Google is your friend!
Here:

Hope This Helps!   HTH!  ;)

[Edited by admin: over-use of punctuation looks really silly.]

I'm a bit new here so I don't know if this belongs in this section of the forum. I was wondering if I could use the samples provided by this website for commercial purposes(that is if and when I get good at step-sequencing). Just don't want to get into any legal issues with any of my compositions.

Back a few years ago I uploaded some songs to mp3.com that were made using some drum and synth wave sounds that I downloaded from a site that may be defunct now and they may have been illegal samples. I need to know what is legal concerning drum, synth, and pad samples found on the internet.

Can you clarify whether you mean samples from the modules, or samples from the sample archive which is part of modarchive, Waveworld.

I was actually talking about instrument sound samples downloaded from the modarchive site and another site that probably disappeared a couple years ago. They are just sounds taken from instruments and I was curious of the legalities of using recorded instrument sounds.

I know this post is a couple months old now but what the heck!

Yeah.....you'd have to check the comments field, if it is an .it(.it means an Impulse Tracker file which allows you to save comments along with the module) file especially,  then see who, if any, provided the samples, then give them proper dues!

Always check everything out the best you can.......first.........then.....check here at this forum, and if all else fails............DO NOT USE THE SAMPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got it?

Good!

Here are some sites to some very free software that you can have for virtually nothing that will help you imensely in making your.............own...............sound samples!!!!!   8-)    :D

http://www.sonicspot.com/sampled/sampled.html

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

The first one.........Sampled is what I use to create my own sound samples!!!!

[EDIT] I would attach a sample I just made on Sampled but this forum doesn't allow attachments............Sorry!   It sounds like a cool sample too!!!111

[EDIT2]Oh and we are not supposed to ask for sample hosting which I can greatly understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   In other words don't look for people to post their samples here.   They may post them to some other provider but not directly here!.

Enjoy!

Welcome and

Cheers

Hehe :) The multi-clicking on a file is usually because the data server it selects first is busy, so you eventually get to one which isn't and has a slot free to download from.

So, you have snow? That's cool. We haven't had any real snow in years, usually just a couple of centimeters (about an inch or two) which sucks :( The winters seem to be getting warmer here (i'm in europe by the way, I'm based in The Netherlands) however we could be in for a cold snap around February, so we never know our luck (just as long as it's not "too much" snow).

Always nice to hear from modarchive "fans", getting hellos from folks like yourself goes much further than you probably realize when it comes to motivation.

Ah!  Okay!   That's why sometimes I have to click on it twice!   That may also be due to some snow or something especially if the host server is located somewhere in the northern USA.  ;)

You're in the Netherlands?   So you're dutch I take it?  You speak, or at least, type perfect English!    I'm 1/4th Dutch myself but didn't have enough Dutch relatives close enough to me to learn the language from!    Just had all these English speaking people around me all my life! LoL

Yeah I'll give you, all the trackers out there, and modarchive a great BIG ...........HELLO!   Again I appreciate your efforts as well as those that produce the content of this site!!!   I will respect it as long as I live!!!!

Had to quote this....sorry!  But yeah!  It is nothing for us to get 8 to 12 inches of snow in one shot here in De Kalb Illinois, USA.  :(  And this is on days when I have to be at work at 6:00am!!!     So that's getting up at 4:15am, scraping ice and snow off my vehicle for 20 minutes while the vehicle runs and heats up for another 25 min!    That's 45 minutes I have to get up early just so I can pick up a rider that also works with me in Sycamore, Illinois on time.   Not too much snow this particular time though....only 1 inch yesterday that hasn't melted yet since it only got up to 15 degrees fahrenheit today.

I hear that it rains a lot in the UK and the Netherlands?  If it got cold there a lot also, you'd be in a world of hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ;)

[EDIT]It has been very nice to meet you m0d!  I hope this next weekend will be brighter for you!   8-)    :D

[EDIT2] I now realize that I should've posted this in  http://www.modarchive.com/db/boards2/viewforum.php?f=9

Dooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  LoL!!! ;) Soooorrrrrryyyy peopleses'

Damn m0d!  Sorry man!   Well if it's any consolation?  My sunday is shot to hell too.  LoL  The .com site only works if you click on the filename twice for some reason.   Sometimes it will come up with the file download on the first try but about 70% of the time you have to hit stop, then hit refresh, or click on the file again.  It seems like something with the provider and not modarchive itself.   They may have servers in all of this snow we've been getting and some lines are down or something.

Thank you though for all your hard work too!!!!!   I appreciate it man!  I could've waited a while but I'm just used to modarchive being there all the time and wondered about it.

Oh and I always just manually click on one file at a time because those mass downloaders suck anyway simply because they drain too much bandwidth and I was always afraid they wouldn't get what I wanted.

[EDIT] I'll probably get every file on modarchive....eventually but I'm 43 years old now and will probably be 90 when that happens and it won't be because of some stupid mass downloader!!!!!!!!!!   Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr......  :cross:

Thanks again m0d!  You also Rock and Rule!!!!     8-)   :D   :)   :P
