I've seen mods uploaded with no account attached, and I'm trying to make sure the "no" option when uploading uploads the module without an account (if I'm uploading an old mod that isn't on the Mod Archive yet.) I have attached a jpeg that shows what button I'm talking about. (sorry about the test upload, i was trying to see if it uploaded the module without an attached account. silly me.) I read the help page, but I was kind-of confused.

When I try to click "save module", the cursor turns purple, suggesting that the program is expecting a text input, but I don't know what to do after this point, and I'm trying to save a module file (I have the same problem when trying to save a song file.) I'm using WinUAE version 4.10.1, and I do not have "Amiga Forever". I have attached a link to a YouTube video showing what I'm talking about (the mod export problem) at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIusL5w2OQc.
Also, I looked in the DOC Soundtracker manual (the official one from DOC) and it mentioned a mod saving process that included a bunch of complicated assembler and coding stuff I don't understand.

Sampling / Another sample pack from me.
« on: June 08, 2023, 21:21:14 »
This time, all the samples are RAW samples. (signed 8-bit PCM specifically.) I recorded most of them from my Yamaha PSR-E273 keyboard, although a few of them (hihats, crash cymbals, etc.) are from the official Korg M1 VSTi, and Falcosoft's MUNT VSTi. Enjoy!

I don't know how to transpose a note up or down in NoiseTracker without resampling the sample to a different note. I don't think you can even edit a sample within DOC SoundTracker, which predated NoiseTracker by a year. Thanks for answering my question!

Edit: I just found out you can switch octaves with the F1 and F2 keys.

Sampling / A Roland MT-32 Sample Pack that I made.
« on: April 30, 2023, 18:48:43 »
I recorded a bunch of samples from Falcosoft's (Zoltán Bacskó's) MUNT VSTi, along with a few samples from Full Bucket Music's FB-7999 (vsti of korg dw-8000) and Digital Suburban's Dexed. Enjoy! (I also included an amiga .adf version for people using WinUAE.)
Also, these are 8SVX .iff samples with loop points. I tested these samples in NoiseTracker 2.0 and ProTracker v2.2b. In both trackers, they worked, although for some reason, NoiseTracker didn't detect the loop points. You don't have to credit me if you use these samples, but it would be polite.

The Lobby / How to convert NoiseTracker .nt to ProTracker .mod.
« on: April 03, 2023, 05:17:32 »
I can't figure out how to convert a NoiseTracker .nt module to a ProTracker .mod that can be loaded in OpenMPT. I can't load any .nt mods in OpenMPT, but I can load a .mod, so I'm trying to figure out how to convert a .nt to .mod, and/or load a .nt into OpenMPT. Thanks!

(Warning: this is a really long post. Sorry about that.)
This relates to my previous post about that strings ensemble sound, (st-98:string-1-dw), but that post was too vague (now I found [what I believe to be] the oldest mods to have this sound) and I have since learned more about mods with this sound. But I can't figure out what synthesizer this sound is from. I looked through other ST-XX packs, other mods, and even listened to presets from some old synthesizers (Roland D-50, Korg M1, etc.) but I couldn't figure out what record or synthesizer this strings sound was sampled from. Anyways, the reason I want to know what this sound is from is because I feel that it sounds interesting, I like the really deep, windy sound of it. So, on .mod sample master (what a GREAT resource! really useful!) I looked for mods with this sample, and the oldest mod I found (that had this sample) was Mad Freak's 1991 mod "3ddemo.mod" (on Mod Archive at https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=60960) with a little bit more beginning (you'll see what I mean a few sentences from now) at sample slot 1, with sample name "made by mad freak (c)" (people used to put comments in sample text) and in ST-A0, there is an "swtense2" sample that I found out was taken from Mantronix's 1992 "The Sweat Shop" (this is also on the Mod Archive, at https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=62394), and this version of the sample has the beginning cut off, but a few more samples at the end, and at sample slot 2, with sample name "# of phenomena. from". But then, I noticed that ST-60 has a strikingly similar sample, titled "dtrap-chord". So, I looked up Anco's 1990 amiga game "Death Trap" on YouTube, and sure enough, I see that the sample is in the opening music. It says the composer is Charles Deenan, a Dutch (the netherlands) computer musician. I decided to read some interviews of him, no indication of synths he used to use. I looked at some pictures of him and his studio, I saw a Roland A-80 in a picture, but I don't personally own an A-80, and I couldn't find much about it online, so I couldn't listen to the A-80 presets and compare samples. What a nice day to check out ST-98. Ooh, what is this "String-1-dw"? Oh, look, its the sound! Wait, why is there a scratchy electronic "rip" noise at the beginning? None of the other samples seem to have that (this ST-98 one is the longest out of all the variations I mentioned). Hold on, the Mad Freak 3d demo version of the sample seems to have been ripped from this. But then what record or synth were all these samples recorded from? Now thats my question! So, in summary, there are many version of this sample (the oldest version [that I could find] being from 1990) and I am wondering what record or synth the sample is from. Wait....1990? That was 33 years ago! That means that the record or synth we're looking for is really old! Probably late 1980s or sometime earlier in 1990. Can you please help me figure out what record or synth or whatever that this sample (well, many variations of this sample) was sampled from? I have linked all the versions of the sample [that I could find] here, in a zip folder. If you found the source of this sound, then thank you so much for that!

Sampling / This strings ensemble sound!
« on: February 10, 2023, 22:05:29 »
This is "string-1-dw", a strings sound from ST-98 (part of the ST-XX amiga sample packs) and I keep seeing this sound (and shorter versions of it, like ST-A0:swtense2) show up in modules, but I can't figure out what synthesizer or song this is sampled from. Could you please help me figure out what synth this is? Thanks!

I have a sample of it attached here.

Sampling / What song are these old ST- samples from?
« on: November 26, 2022, 03:42:04 »
There's these old ST- samples (st-05:cc1+2 and cc3+4, st-09:sample, st-a7:BonJoviSDRUMHHOP, etc.) that seem to be sampled from old songs. The ones I have attached here are just some of the ones I'm interested in. Can you please identify what songs they are from? Maybe not all of them right now, but just the ones you can identify at the moment. Thanks!  :)

Sampling / Where is this sample from?
« on: October 07, 2022, 04:41:21 »
I'm wondering about both what sample pack it is from, and also what synth it is from.
It's Sample 19 in "Point of Departure" by Necros. (NICESINE.SMP)
I have it as an attachment here.
