MilkyTracker Support / Re: Midi keyboard woes

I see. I've tried out marking the channels as you specified, but the recording doesn't seem to happen in the way I expected, I am not recording to them at the same time.

For example, I mark channels 1,2 and 3, and start recording. The first note I play goes to channel 1. The next note -- 2, third note --3, fourth note -- 1, and so on. Is that the intended behaviour?

MilkyTracker Support / Midi keyboard woes
« on: March 06, 2014, 06:46:45 »
Hello, I'm trying to get around the 'single note on single instrument' limitation for recording from a midi controller on Milkytracker. I'm trying to achieve two things:
  • Record to multiple instruments at the same time, to create a 'layer' effect.
  • Split the keyboard between multiple instruments, to play, for example lead with right hand and bass with left hand.

I've discovered the 'Jam channels' option, that lets me play multiple notes on the same channel, but it seems to be unfit for recording.

There seems to be a 'mark channel' option for selecting multiple channels, but I am able to only select one channel with it -- the marking resets to the single last marked channel. Also, I'm not sure how to assign different instruments to different channels before starting to record.

Any tips on what should I do next?
