The Lobby / Remember the first time?

Go on, then, peel back the mists of time and think! think!
what was that first mod a friend played to you whilst raving about some free music scene?

so what was your first experience with a mod?

back in the heady days of secondary school a German friend of mine introduced me to an artist called Alien... the specific track being In the dawn. I was hooked, I got me a copy of mptracker and started playing around, listening to all the tracks I could download on weekday evenings and weekends on a crummy dial-up (plus the ones I sneakily downloaded at school behind the IT guy's back, drilling holes in the 800kb floppies I had so they'd hold more tunes..) I've never looked back  :D

I've a feeling you can also do something similar in KDE (at least in the kubuntu distro)
If I can get my boot sector problems sorted I'll have a play on my home box and report back  :D

Tracking / raw data -> .wav batch conversion?
« on: May 25, 2007, 17:26:01 »
Not used the software for ages but I seem to recall that Goldwave was quite good at batch converting between different audio formats (includiong raw data)...

MilkyPlay / can someone do mod player for my pocket?
« on: May 25, 2007, 10:25:30 »
My suggestion creates a workable mobile mod player. granted it costs a wee bit but you never know what kind of hardware peops can get hold of....

I don't see a genuine portable mod player being especially marketable, unfortunately. Although it sounds like an interesting project...

is anyone here smart enough to hack an mp3 player so it will play mods?
I know I'm not...

Sweet, works nicely with Blazer on my Treo 650 (Palm OS), search function OK, downloads OK (although I only tried a very small file)

Nice work m0d, just when I thought things couldn't get any more awesomer around here

Sweet job, I'm impressed. Shame using my pda to browse costs me so much!

how keen are you to do this?
it's possible if you have a PDA running palm OS, there is tracker software called Psytexx (kindly brought to my attention by Eagle a while ago)

with Psytexx 2.0 you can play back and track .MOD and .XM

kinda hard work tracking on a PDA though
