MilkyTracker Support / 9XX SAMPLE OFFSET SIMPLE QUESTION
« on: August 19, 2009, 15:46:22 »
Hi,

I know that sample offest can be used to jump to certain points in a long sample (such as a particular point in a 2-bar beat to make breakbeats), but i was wondering:

when you use sample offset with a really short looping sample such as one cycle of a square wave, will it offset the sample everytime it loops or just the first time?

the reason i want to know is because i want to create different square waves from one square wave sample; a wave with square at 50% into length of entire sample, another with square at 25% of the length of the sample. know what i mean? sorry for lame explanation, hope im being clear.

any help much appreciated, thanks for the excellent program..only tracker for PDA!!

MilkyTracker Support / Any way to do a sweep effect?
« on: August 18, 2009, 12:36:25 »
hello,

I just want to know is it possible to move the loop around in this manner (excerpt from LGPT tracker manual):

Loop offset: shift both the loop start and loop end values aaaa digits

LP0F 0001 adds one to both values, LP0F FFFF removes one (so values > 0 X 800 moves the loop backward)

with an effect like this mad stuff and coolness is totally within reach, crazy ambience and sheet!! long samples with small loops being moved around within them to create different textures etc..

Yeah just wanted to know is there a way to do this in milkytracker?
A workaround/different way to achieve this is cool as well..any way at all its possible?

P.S:

milkytracker is the best because i can write music on the bus/train/outdoors/whatever and then use the resulting xm file in renoise later to make it all more pro... there are other trackers out there with better commands but they are not portable AND compatible for import into renoise...so those are my reasons for using the milky, just thought id let you know.

MilkyTracker Support / Re: Help with fine tuning sounds
« on: August 12, 2009, 14:12:03 »
You can generate various waveforms (or draw them) in the sample editor or you can use your own samples of 8bit sounds. For example you could get a note sampled from an NES, set up loop points so that a very small portion of it loops very quickly, in this way you recreate the NES chip instrument sound. You can also do custom volume and panning envelopes etc.

Filter in sample editor would be greatly appreciated

I use milkytracker on a pda. the directional pad is very useful although a little uncomfortable to use. milkytracker with gameboy style input running on the new pandora games pda thing could be amazing (more comfortable to use and faster input than with a stylus).....

MilkyTracker Support / will there be more updates?
« on: April 09, 2009, 06:17:34 »
milkytracker seems like its the best, most detailed tracker for handheld devices.
the only thing that gets me about it is that midi sinc (to other devices) option is not available. milkytracker is most advanced in every other way...why no proper midi?  :P :-[ :'(

lgpt (for gamepark handheld) and lsdj (on gameboy) can both act as midi master. why milkytracker cant do?

milkytracker can recieve midi note+velocity data already. it must be possible.
are there any plans to include midi sinc (as master) or midi sinc (to other devices as slave) in future updates. . .will there be more updates?
