Help me find that... / Re: I'm trying to find some modules...

Could the haven.mp3 be Archangel's - The Grey Havens.xm

http://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=138944

Now the other one, is starting to do my head in. Try Archangels other modules cos it also might be one of his tunes. Again, like the other tune, they both sound really familiar, hence why its doing my head in, cos I can't remember who its by or what its called.

Samples and the tunes sound very Awesome(ish), but I dont recognise it as one of his.

Just a quick update.

Asle at AMP has successfully ripped these modules and has added them to the AMP database.  You can find them under the MrWillow handle.

Nice one Asle!  ;)

Help me find that... / Re: Missing Thunderbass Tracks
« on: August 02, 2010, 11:17:47 »
Think I replied to the original thread.  Maybe these modules are just lost in the mists of time.   :(

I seem to remember back in the day, someone supposedly archived all Explizit releases, but those Thunderbass tracks weren't part of the archive when I checked them.

Sorry I can't help!

Only way I can see it happening is if Thunderbass actually reads this post or somehow, some one gets in contact with him.

There is a s3m called The Underground Beckons by Hypnotic Melody on Modland in the Screamtracker 3 folder under his artist name.

There are various mods called Push the Feeling On, all in the protracker folder under various artists.
MSK
Lowmem
Reflect
Trancematic

No idea if any are the version your looking for.

Cant really help with the Unknown Authors ones either, except

Cubik, is that the artist or a mod?  I have a mod from 1991 by Anodyne called 808 State - Cubik.mod

Trance Now!.s3m - I have. Says its by Duke/TC 1994. For some reason I have this down as Bay Tremore. dunno why?

Celebration quite a popular name for a module lol

Outside Worlds Remix is quite a popular one too, have a few versions of this.

Any idea what tracker format these are in, for the unknown authors ones?

No idea about the others.....

Have you tried looking on?

ftp://modland.com or http://amp.dascene.net/home.php

Although most of the mods you are looking for aren't on these 2 sites, a few are! (Starfox tunes). I have the same as basically whats on both sites. Strange that the Infra & Spike ones are missing too.

AMP allows searches on artist name or modnames which should get 2 or 3 you are missing from Starfox.  Modland slightly different, you need to look through the artists folders for fasttracker 2/screamtracker/protracker folders etc.

Judging on the filesizes, I would suggest looking at those I mentioned although I cant guarantee their accuracy.  Its a guess

Some revisions -
Children might be the Touldie version
Everywere might be everywhere.mod by Axel D
Wasteland might be by Bit Arts or Peters, Cutcreator version filesize probably too big
Robotron might be the one by Starbuck

If you cannot find the others here on ModArchive, I suggest a look through the archives at

http://amp.dascene.net/home.php
Modland (ftp site) or a web-based front end at http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Main_Page

Had a look through and I am somewhat guessing as to the original composers of the below modules.  You give no indication if all these mods are in protracker format (.mod)  or .s3m, .xm etc. etc.

The filenames may not actually be the module name, so the ones I mention below, may be inaccurate.  Is there any way to provide a download link to any of the modules? which may provide more accurate information...

Children - So many versions!!
Lars - maybe by SLL
EchoFunk - might be the one everyone has as Unknown

Everywere- Heatbeat one?

Japaneserock  - maybe by SCS
Chipchop2 - maybe by Brainbug
Wasteland - Bit Arts or Cutcreator?
Robotron - ?
Setrox_Dance - maybe by Grubbi
Yo_Freak - maybe by Time Traveller

If you know what tracker is used to create those signatures, look in the main folder structure for the tracker,  then the sub folder for mods created in that tracker. i.e Fasttracker and Fasttracker2 folders.

Seems theres 2 programs, called Octalyser and Oktalyzer, I presume they are different.

I did try Taketracker, but Modland obviously hasnt got any in that format. Again, I presume there arent going to be many mods available if at all.

I think sverx knows very well about those custom header signatures. The header is often the same as for other mod formats actually. However, The actual data (esp patterns) are often quite different, and I don't even think that Modland does make a difference between those.

Only in the fact that they are written in different tracker programs and on different platforms, which Modland does catalogue, not all though.  Its the only site I can think of that really does not just store standard mod music files.

I managed to find some info on CD81 (Falcon) and TDZx (Taketracker), but couldnt find anything on EX08, what is that from?
