MilkyTracker Tracks & Songs / Re: [split] exporting xm

Doesn't your iChoons cover that? Other than that, I'm sure there's a LAME build for OS X out there as well.

A touch-screen gp2x? Now, THAT sounds interesting.

Tracking / Re: Amazingly noobish question.

You can extend the current pattern by upping the "Len." value but the maximum is 100 hexadecimal (= 256 decimal) rows, which is 4 just times the default value.

But, what I think you really are looking for is using multiple patterns and arranging them into a song. Take a look at the top left corner of the tracker, there's the Pattern Order Table which you can modify with the nearby buttons. The value on the left is the song position a.k.a. Order and the value on the right is the Pattern assigned to it. A song is made by playing different patterns in succession, their order being defined in the POT.

MilkyTracker Community / Re: Help

Oh right, forgot about this one.. Which software do you mean? Judging by the "video tutorials" you mention I take you're talking about MilkyTracker and this post just slipped into the TMA parent forum. (m0d, if you would be as kind as to move this to, I dunno, maybe the MT Community section..)

It's true MilkyTracker doesn't have comprehensive user manuals or beginner's guides and that's because its main target audience already knows how to use the exemplar, Fasttracker II, and will quickly adapt to the minor changes in MT. We do host the Ft2 documentation and a couple tracking articles in the Downloads section but unfortunately there's little MT specific self-access material. Hopefully this doesn't discourage you though, countless kids learned to use trackers in the 90s so it's really not rocket science. :)

I added you on my contact list.

Tracking / Re: Protracker style Trackers on MS-DOS

I should too on my ACE. It's funny, never knew these trackers before they were recently brought up here and on Pouët. Anyway, they really look like ProTracker and the horde of hacked music editors on Amiga.

I seem to remember the screenshot format being .LBM (DeluxePaint), IrfanView for one supports that.

MilkyTracker Tracks & Songs / Re: Instrument sustain option
« on: November 21, 2007, 10:20:12 »
Just enter a key-off "note" with Caps-lock or the key between LShift and Z (if you have one). That will make the volume envelope move on from the sustain point. And you don't even need to trace the complete curve to zero volume, you can use the Fadeout value on the right to control how fast you want the instrument to fade out (lower value=slower fade).

I thought we Finns were considered hasty because of the 24th, Christmas eve, being the highlight of December here. It's cool we have a consensus on the site theme issue. I just wish it won't be needlessly prolonged after December either.

Tracking / The dogma

Is this a library or is this a studio? Make trackers, not lengthy literal works! ;)
