It's all good. Maybe this can work as a knowledge base article for people having the same problem. Only the solution wasn't that detailed. Do those scanners have sound output? That's hilarious! :)

Here's a new track from a week ago when it was backing up jix and Alien's visuals at Evoke.

Why not just use the MOD arpeggio command 0xy on the effect column?

Although your emphasis seems to be on the conversion, it's possible to do arps this way but it's not very space efficient. A better way to do wider arpeggios would be to have altering base note for every other row with their respective arpeggio parameters (as explained by Strobe on the old forums). The method in my example has a couple of advantages still. a) The arpeggio speed is not dependent on your module speed setting since it's controlled with the volume envelope and b) you don't have to start the arpeggio with the lowest note in the chord and c) you can effect every blip individually etc.. If you only require help with the conversion of chords to 0xy, Flasch's little web tool still does the job. :)

Right.. But how does this relate to MT?

What do you mean GS and XG for MIDI in? MilkyTracker just plays any inbound notes using the currently selected instrument, it's not like it's multi-timbral or anything.

MilkyTracker Feature Requests / Re: File browser

These sound very much like the annoyances of the standard file dialog in Windows Mobile. Using the internal browser (click FLIP in the disk op screen, enable permanently from the config) here I can freely browse the file system and the last used directory is remembered when I open the browser again. Directory preset buttons are also available.

Yes, this is intentional and probably the most important feature of the tracker. The art of "f***ing" up... Enough silliness! Do you mean the loop points are shifted to even values? MODs can't have odd size samples and apparently it applies to loop point places too. A quick scan through random MODs seems to suggest this as well.

My comment must have been an experiment in hasty replies. It's actually not bad, especially for fast work. I just got scared by the Windowsness of it. What the app needs right now is quite the opposite and that's enabling the keyboard to play notes and edit patterns the tracker way.

I hope it gets a proper GUI some day soon.

Nice to know. Do you also have a cure for *buntu seemingly randomly selecting the "default" audio device on each boot?
