MilkyTracker Support / Re: Can't insert key-off

Yes and no. Tilde does what it's supposed to and the key between LShift and Z is missing in your layout. Try capslock and 1.

Mixing, i.e. lowering the volume of your instrument.

Help me find that... / Re: Software for convert MOD files

Why not use a module player for iOS?

Everything you create in MilkyTracker is yours, even to sell. But if you're using somebody else's work (samples, instruments, synthesizers, patterns, tracks, composition) as basis for yours, make sure to clear any licensing and/or conscience issues.

To keep it simple, use software you bought or is free, not warez. Use works that are in the public domain or are creative commons licensed (and respect the license terms) or get in contact with the author for permission.

Yeah, I left some links to The Mod Archive sample torrents over there. Hi.

There is no limitation in the PDA version in that regard, I can tell you that much. But that's about it since it's been ages since I used it. Are you using the system file selector or the one integrated in the tracker? Because the former might be (incorrectly) filtering MODs out. In the integrated one, all the importable files should be visible and you can even disable all filtering altogether to load modules with renamed extensions or arbitrary files as samples for that sweet binary noise.

MilkyTracker Feature Requests / Re: Delay when rendering

I support this. I don't see why the leading silence couldn't be omitted.

MilkyTracker Support / Re: Pattern Loop or Play once?
« on: March 30, 2012, 10:25:38 »
You would need to put a F00 command at the end of the pattern to have Milky stop there. But it will stop whether you're playing a pattern or the full song sequence and it is not standard behavior for players to respect this command.

Generally, in a tracker, the song loops forever and in a player it plays once or loops, depending on the settings. It sounds like this is a workflow issue and for that I have to say no, I don't think there is a way to have the pattern play behave like that. At least not at the moment.

For finished songs, you can use effect commands to slow down the song, stick it in a silent loop, kill the global volume or in some cases even stop the song dead but I would advice against it. Modules are natively looping sequences and players and listeners expect that. In most cases I would imagine such tricks would either be skipped by a player to advance to the next song on the playlist OR they would cause a nasty pause before that.

Not a bad idea by no means but I find it fastest to just click the number field and type the number on the keyboard.
