Website News Archive / The Sound of Scenesat Volume 2 Live show
« on: May 10, 2011, 02:51:39 »
:breakpage:
:breakhead:
This beauty was released at Revision 2010 but the final version will be released on 15th.

At release it was 68 tracks with a playtime of over 6 hours, it will be even more when they go live so if you're a scener or interested in the demoscene music side of things you're welcome to join the party on IRC and the radio stream at Scenesat Radio.

Both the stream and the IRC on Efnet #scenesat will be archived for playback as soon as the shows are over so if you miss it you still can get a listen into the broadcast - quite a few of the musicians will be at the party making guest appearances on the show. Sadly I won't be able to take part but will be tuned in and interacting on IRC (my nick is m0d) :)

We need to go through the amazingness of the second volume of the compilation series so here you have a show that'll rock the socks off the Eurovision Song Contest, which happens to take place on the same evening. This will be a massive show from SSR Studio 1 in Sollentuna, Sweden, featuring a bunch of guests as well as the full playlist from volume 2 + its bonus tracks. Let's make sure to break the ESC's viewer/listener count... ;)

There has been a slight modification to where the forums are hosted, instead of modarchive.org/forums, they are now located at forums.modarchive.org. The original location will continue to work for some time but please update any hard-links you may have pointing there (and bookmarks) to avoid problems later.

From http://www.VideoGameAudio.com post on our forums:

I'm one of the three composers on the game Retro City Rampage.  It has just been nominated for excellence in audio by the Independent Games Festival (basically the Sundance/Cannes for gaming).  We've decided to run a remix competition for the theme song and even give out the actual source file for the song.

virt's original .it file is here:  :ohttp://bit.ly/hPEDXi :o

I've been working in videogames since '94 and was lucky enough to score the multi-award winning Canadian documentary The Corporation and can definitely say that this could be an amazing opportunity to anyone wishing to enter the videogame industry.  The competition will be hard as we are sending out the invite to many talented composers around the world.  We look forward to hearing your mixes!

All the details for the competition are here: http://bit.ly/hPEDXi

Entries must be submitted by 11:59pm PST March 15th, 2011.
The winners will be announced by March 21st, 2011.

Cheers,
Leonard J. Paul

Website News Archive / Sundown 2010 - Remote Entries Possible!
« on: August 31, 2010, 13:48:51 »
:breakpage:
:breakhead:
Sundown (a demoscene party in England, United Kingdom) is once upon us. This year, the party takes place from the 3rd-5th September. The deadline for remote entries is Friday 3rd, 1700 UTC (6pm local UK time).

A huge bunch of competitions are open including the tracked and MP3/OGG music compo. If you have a penchant for doing graphics, those are also open as well as the usual DEMO compos :-)
It's an opportunity to get your music heard by sceners, and to step into the demoscene. It'll be great, so gogogogo!

See Rules and Entry page for info!

-m0d
P.S I'll be there!

Forum Rules & Info / Registering
« on: August 14, 2010, 02:42:07 »
Due to spammers, you will get a popup user/password request when you try to register. The requester popup actually tells you what you need to input to get to the registration page. Input that and off you go.
