hi,
first of all, if you're curious i'd have you look on youtube about drawing your own samples in milkytracker, it's really amazing, that you can generate everything yourself, fairly easily

as for actual samples,
i haven't checked this out in years but, i just checked if it's still available and it is
http://tracker.modarchive.org/torrents/woolyss-chiptune-samples.zip.torrent
this is actually linked on the download page of milkytracker
http://milkytracker.titandemo.org/downloads/

what's funny is if you actually go to woolyss' site, it's not actually there, there's just a bunch of links
https://woolyss.com/chipmusic-samples.php
assuming they are some of the same that comprise the torrent, it would take you much longer to compile them all
there's also a samples links page in the "tracker" section of the site but it seems worse, maybe just cos' there are no description for any of the links, they could be some of the same ones, or maybe they're not chiptune-related
https://woolyss.com/tracking-samples.php

i actually haven't looked in the torrent so i dunno if it's actually good, but i assume it is

surprisingly every once in awhile someone comments the video wondering the same thing

The more popular a video is, the more popular it gets.

that doesn't really apply
the only people looking for this video is someone who watched it in 1999 or 2000 and wants to re-watch it, or people who just want to see a trailer for chrono cross
it's not like it's a spreading viral video, in 10 years it's had 4,000 views

this was a fanedit which switched the music of the original trailer
i only posted it because i wanted to know what the music was and thought i was the only one, but amazingly, other people comment saying they have wondered the same thing in 1999/2000 and have somehow found the video now to try and find it

i uploaded this video years ago, and at some point the webmaster of squaregamer commented and said the music was from a mod (that comment is gone now)

sort of a shot in the dark with this post, but hoping someone might know

surprisingly every once in awhile someone comments the video wondering the same thing

Mac OSX

Regarding the core/memory dump...I don't know what that means or what I should do to retrieve it.

are you using high sierra?

i doubt the headphones had anything to do with it
if you have the notes in the same row, they will cancel out
what you can do is have them in separate rows and have note cutoffs (in my milkytracker it's the ` next to the number 1 above tab)

i don't know if you've already taught yourself since this is months later, but you can change the sound a lot by messing with the volume envelopes in instrument edit

beyond that, you could play around with effects

MilkyTracker Bug Reports / Re: Weird speed/pitch problem on OSX
« on: September 30, 2014, 14:43:55 »
ok i still get the bug in the latest version (just dragging and dropping xm file into milkytracker window)
i was playing around and if i toggle thru and apply all the different mixer resolutions and hit apply while the song is playing i'm able to get it to sound higher and lower pitched than it's supposed to be and i can get it back to normal pitch too
i don't know if this is related to the bug i have no idea why i'm trying this

i've noticed this problem for awhile in mac os x.
i just start milkytracker load a song and it will be higher pitched than it's supposed to be (i realize the original poster said lower pitched, but for me it is higher pitched)
if i load another song it will have the same problem
but if i close milkytracker and re-open it the files play fine...
i was using .xm too btw

i haven't tried it in 0.90.86 tho... i had 0.90.85
perhaps the xm sample loading bugs in the changelog fixed this?
