MilkyTracker Bug Reports / Re: Crashes regularly in Windows 7

Works fine for me too, on 32-bit Windows 7.

MilkyTracker Support / Re: Milkytracker freezes from fullscreen

I can't see how this can be a bug in Milkytracker, most probably the fault exists elsewhere on your system.

MilkyTracker Community / Re: How about creamtracker ie.milkytracker2?
« on: September 18, 2009, 17:03:32 »
I don't think pailes has any interest in extending Milkytracker in that way - although the source is available for anyone else who is up to the challenge (and has motivation ;)

MilkyTracker Support / Re: How do you make the [] note?
« on: September 16, 2009, 22:05:12 »
I think you're referring to the note-off symbol.  It's explained in the docs, but I think you can use the key to the right of left-shift, or possibly tab, maybe caps-lock..

Nibbles is missing!  I've been telling you this for years now..

MilkyTracker Support / Re: Samples automatically finetuned?
« on: August 29, 2009, 15:26:30 »
Yeah, that must be it - it most probably dates back to the Amiga tracker formats.  The Amiga audio hardware (the 'Paula' chip) supported sample rates from 20Hz to 29kHz, so 8kHz must have been a good choice for a middle-C.

This question has been asked before here.

I think it's because FT2 was designed to operate with 22kHz samples, so 44kHz samples have to be played at twice the pitch - hence the -28 detune.  Something like that anyway :)

Hi Laurent, thanks for the heads up.

We actually looked into this when you mentioned the first release of your MO3 specs; The main stumbling block is this:

Quote
The samples can be compressed using OGG, MP3, and 2 kind of specific lossless algorithms.

To properly support MO3 would require support for the above mentioned codecs, and doing this in a platform independant manner would be time consuming - especially since pailes hates using dynamic libraries ;)

However, it still remains on Milkytracker's TODO list.

MilkyTracker Feature Requests / Re: GPH wiz milkytracker port?
« on: July 22, 2009, 23:47:02 »
Probably best to ask people who actually own a GP2X wiz, none of the current (in)active developers own one nor do they intend on porting Milkytracker to it.  Since the source code is available it should be a fairly trivial port for anyone with the time and a bit of knowledge.

Noone else has mentioned this problem before.  Are you building in XCode?  Do you have the extra .tgz file with the extra files needed for the Windows/OSX versions?

The website appears to be offline at the moment, so I can't check myself.
