Milkytracker 0.90.86 is released!

This release incorporates bug-fixes for many of the issues posted in the form, along with some contributed patches, a couple of new features and updates to the user manual.  The source code repository has been migrated to GitHub.

Download it here, and check out the change-log.

It's been 3 years and 10 months since the previous release, so as you may have guessed MilkyTracker is no longer being actively developed. I will continue to incorporate any patches contributed and fix the odd bug here and there but don't expect any major changes from myself, or pailes - who has been absent for some time.

Happy tracking!

Nice tune! I like how you're created it from such a limited set of basic waveforms (and have managed to avoid the stereotypical arpeggios!)

I've changed it to display a warning when samples are over 64k in size, but limit the sample size to 128k (the maximum possible in the mod format).

What is a non-Amiga mod anyway?  Surely you'd use .XM for anything on the PC.

Creating .mod files that aren't compatible with Protracker/Amiga is like creating .XM files that aren't compatible with FastTrackerII!

Fixed for next release.

Since MOD is predominantly used for Amiga modules, I have modified the MOD exporter to limit sample sizes to 64k.

Just stumbled upon your post on pouet, looks like a useful mod!  Will incorporate it into the next release (whenever that happens..)

The UKs biggest demoscene party is back!

Sundown is located in the seaside town of Budleigh Salterton on the south coast of England, in the land of cider, fish & chips, and nudist beaches.  It runs Friday to Sunday on the 6th - 8th September, and is the perfect place to spend the last days of summer.

The party hosts a number of competitions, including streaming, tracked, chiptune and exe music.  Remote entries are accepted.

For more details please visit the Sundown website:

Not sure you mean by "played outside", do you mean when you use your laptop on the patio?  I can't see why this would effect your playback speed, unless your laptop is going into some weird powersave mode!

Stumbled upon this on youtube:
