MilkyTracker Support / Re: Need help!
« on: May 26, 2010, 19:54:03 »
Read the documentation.

We have a svn repo (ask in the irc channel if you want details).  Regarding the tracker: this is a community project - feel free to set one up if you think it will be worthwhile.

Personally, I think the bigger problem is the lack of developers willing to add new feature requests (bugs are normally fixed fairly quickly).

I could be wrong, but I think the actual mixing takes place inside the Resampler* files located in the Milkyplay directory.

Warning: do not look inside ResamplerMacros.h, you won't like what you see!

Nice rant :)

I completely agree with you on most of the points you have made, and was going to add a rant of my own until I noticed I have already done so ;)

MilkyTracker Support / Re: how can i change the keyboard map?
« on: April 14, 2010, 18:05:58 »
The keyboard map is hard coded; to change it you'll need to modify the source and re-compile.

The file you're interested in is:

There's also the -nonstdkb command line option (used for keyboards which do not have the standard PC scancodes), which may be of some use.

You need to adjust your GNOME desktop configuration so that it doesn't close the application when you hit alt-f4.

Not sure what you mean regarding azerty - could you explain?

How about the one pinned to the forum you just posted in?

The following bugs and issues have been confirmed for MilkyTracker release v0.90.85:

  • New. Add channels: doesn't apply the default pannings (see here) Fixed.
  • New. One-shot samples play incorrectly (see here) Fixed.
  • 0xy arpeggio replay difference comparing to FT2 when song speed is 16 or higher. Fixed.
  • New. Freeze on exit when running MilkyTracker in a directory where it does not have write permission. Fixed.

  • New. Failure to load certain non-xm file formats correctly when running MilkyTracker in a directory where it does not have write permission.
  • New. Milkytracker switches to song playback when changing patterns in live mode whilst using pattern playback mode. Fixed.

  • Certain hot words in song titles may still cause incorrect module format detection.
    • Just report the cases.
  • E3x glissando control is not implemented.
  • E4x vibrato control is not implemented.
  • E7x tremolo control is not implemented.
  • Portamento overflow "effect" isn't reproduced.
  • Simultaneous E6x pattern loop and EEy pattern delay replay differs from Ft2.
  • Slight replay differences when volume column effects are used in conjunction with EDx note delay
  • Volume ramping checkbox isn't cleared and dimmed when using Amiga resamplers for playback.
    • Volume ramping is always off for Amiga modes

Fixed. = Fixed in the following release.
New. = Added since v0.90.85.

There are some command line switches for the SDL version (documented in readme_unix I think).  The one you might like to try is:

./milkytracker -bpp 16

..which will configure Milkytracker to use a 16-bit screen resolution.  You could also try the values 24 and 32 (I can't remember which one MT defaults to).
