MilkyTracker Community / Help with hand drawn samples
« on: January 28, 2016, 16:52:15 »
Hi, I need help in how to create unique samples in MilkyTracker, especially with size 32 ones like the ones used by the PC Engine console.  I know how to draw and generate them, but I cannot find some really unique sounds using the limitations (32 size and forward only).  To get an idea of what I'm talking about, take a look at this:youtube.com/watch?v=SDKHAO0ifyY and this:https://pcedev.wordpress.com/2010/07/26/some-pce-sample-rips/

Sampling / Help with extracting samples from VSTs using OpenMPT
« on: January 27, 2016, 22:36:49 »
I am having trouble finding the option or button to extract samples from VST plugins using the Open MPT sample editor.  How do I create samples with the Open MPT Sample editor from plugins.  I have the plugins set up, but I need to figure out how to use them for their samples and not for their effects.

Tracking / Questions about MML
« on: January 27, 2016, 15:24:34 »
Hi, I have some questions about using MML for XM files.  What are the advantages of using MML over trackers?  How long does it take to master MML?  Where are there tutorials to make MML specifically for Mod and XM files?

MilkyTracker Support / Help with SID sounds in Milkytracker
« on: January 05, 2016, 13:54:34 »
Hey, how do you create SID-like sounds in the sample editor from scrathch?  I know you can download basic SID waveforms, but still, how do you create all of these cool sounds the SID chip can make?  How do you even emulate the attack sustain decay release thing?

The Lobby / Not sure which languages to learn
« on: November 09, 2015, 00:27:00 »
Hi, I am dreaming of becoming a polyglot.  Right now, I am learning some Japanese because my family is traveling to Japan again net year.  I already know some vocab, grammar rules, and I can read hiragana and katakana, but I feel that my Japanese is still very limited.  My Japanese is what the topic is about, but the languages I want to learn in the future.  I heard that I should learn Latin if I am becoming a scientist or doctor, but is Latin necessary for college?  I don't feel motivated in learning Latin.  I also don't know if I want to become fluent in Japanese.  The languages I'm interested in learning are huge languages such as Spanish, Mandarin, French, and Arabic.  I might learn Japanese and Latin, then Spanish and Mandarin, and then French and Arabic, but which ones are the most important right now?

MilkyTracker Feature Requests / More sample format support
« on: November 04, 2015, 02:07:52 »
Hi, I have a request:  Milkytracker should support FLAC samples, as well as Ogg, MP3, MP4, etc. formats and export songs in these formats.  Do you allow that?

I wonder if anyone has used GUS patches for their music, because while the KIArchive instruments are good, I think beginners like me should use a smaller set of instruments such as GUS patches.  There are three available patch sets: DGGUSPAT (from Doomworld, totally public domain), EAWPATs (most are public domain, some are copyrighted), and Freepats (open-source, has most but not all instruments).  Tell me what you think of them or your experience using them.

Tracking / Question about KIArchive instruments
« on: October 31, 2015, 14:50:22 »
Hi, I am new here.  I am learning how to make music with MilkyTracker, DefleMask, and perhaps SchismTracker.  My question about the KIArchive instruments is:  What license belongs to these instruments?  I heard somewhere that they are public domain, but I am still not sure if any of the instruments are freely usable.  BTW, I am making PC Engine-style samples using the same sample size and envelope techniques malducci uses to rip or make his own samples.
