MilkyTracker Support / Cursor focus when loading instruments

Hello guys,
For the most part a prefer the Milktracker edit mode but there is just one little thing that is bugging me.
Every time I load an instrument from the disk op menu, I have to click back on to the instrument slot before I can use keyboard playback.
Is there a better way of loading instruments or a way to change the cursor focus so that the instrument is always highlighted like in Fasttracker II mode?
