Our friends over at SceneSat, who are hosting The Mod Archive, have scheduled some maintenance for the next two days to upgrade and reconfigure their servers. Our website and forums might not always be reachable during this time.

To help funding the server SceneSat and The Mod Archive run on, now is a good time to done some money to SceneSat!

More good news in 2022! Today, support for four more formats has been added to The Mod Archive: Symphonie / Symphonie Pro (SymMOD), Digital Symphony (DSym), Davey W. Taylor's FM Tracker (FMT) and Scream Tracker Music Interface Kit (STX), a transitional format between Scream Tracker 2's STM and Scream Tracker 3's S3M. All of these formats are playable online as well.

Note: Digital Symphony is a RiscOS tracker, and RiscOS doesn't use file extensions. By convention, ModArchive has chosen to follow ModLand's approach and give these files a .dsym extension so that they are more usable on more common Unix and Windows systems. You'll have to add this file extension if you wish to upload Digital Symphony modules.

Happy Tracking!

Hall of Shame / CHEF-KOCH
« on: October 05, 2021, 19:02:21 »
Slightly different from the usual reports, this is a SoundCloud profile taking credits for various tracked music: https://soundcloud.com/chef-koch-2

Among them is one of my own tracks, so I have reported the profile to SoundCloud and it may get taken down.

This guy seems to be known for plagiarizing other people's stuff: https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js/issues/323
On his Vimeo page he also claims ownership of several demos that were clearly made by different people.

Hilariously, one of "his" tracks is a rip of a module that itself has been identified as a rip.

Edit: Three tracks that I have reported including my own seem now gone but they didn't remove the entire profile yet as it seems.

Here are a few more identified rips:
"SHOW US YOUR piano @ TRSAC" - mpxvm - Piano In Flames
"I'm looking for Zenn-La" = Aymes - The Use Of Power
">Skell<" - BST - Aryx 2.5

Hall of Shame / Max Busser

Another "artist" ripping of modules and distributing them via Routenote. Didn't have much time to dive into the tracks yet, but many use exactly or nearly the same name as their original modules (e.g. Celestial Fantasy = Celestial Fantasia by BeaT) so should be easy to identify.
