Yes, those are now assigned as well.

3.1) https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=54801MD5 wrong
3.2) https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=166414MD5 correct
Spotted differences: title is missing in 54801; different notes in patterns 6 (row 6 on channel 2) and 2 (row 42 on channel 2).
Commentary: 54801 seems to be corrupted.
I'd say that 54801 is most likely the original tune, but the notes that differ between the two versions of the song have arpeggios that exceed the Amiga frequency range, so someone edited them by transposing those notes down by an octave, bringing the arpeggios back into range. I will not merge those two versions for now as we cannot be sure if both versions are genuine or if the Amiga-compatible version is just a poor fixup by someone else.

Same about 9.1. These are not corruptions but deliberate edits. I will keep both for now.

MilkyTracker Community / Re: Aggrotech Music On A Tracker
« on: October 16, 2021, 15:12:09 »
I cannot give a definite answer regarding that genre, but while trackers were clearly "underground", a number of producers did use them in the 90s even for commercial releases. OctaMED with its MIDI capabilities was an obvious choice (combining the sampling capabilities with external MIDI hardware).

Assignments have been done, the dupe merging will be done probably tomorrow.

Help me find that... / Re: MOD with compressed 8SVX samples
« on: October 11, 2021, 22:03:37 »
Maybe you could elaborate on what you want to achieve or what you are looking for, because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Do you want to use the 8SVX Fibonacci-delta compression in modules? That isn't part of either the XM or the MOD specification (samples are always raw PCM, or with ModPlug extensions 4-bit ADPCM), so it cannot be done without modifying the software that is used to read and write those files.

That sounds like a very liberal remix of Amegas to me: https://modarchive.org/module.php?186736

Hall of Shame / CHEF-KOCH
« on: October 05, 2021, 19:02:21 »
Slightly different from the usual reports, this is a SoundCloud profile taking credits for various tracked music: https://soundcloud.com/chef-koch-2

Among them is one of my own tracks, so I have reported the profile to SoundCloud and it may get taken down.

This guy seems to be known for plagiarizing other people's stuff: https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js/issues/323
On his Vimeo page he also claims ownership of several demos that were clearly made by different people.

Hilariously, one of "his" tracks is a rip of a module that itself has been identified as a rip.

Edit: Three tracks that I have reported including my own seem now gone but they didn't remove the entire profile yet as it seems.

Here are a few more identified rips:
"SHOW US YOUR piano @ TRSAC" - mpxvm - Piano In Flames
"I'm looking for Zenn-La" = Aymes - The Use Of Power
">Skell<" - BST - Aryx 2.5

Tracking / Re: Converting .IT to .XM
« on: October 02, 2021, 14:33:37 »
You can convert to XM in OpenMPT, but please be aware that IT is a more powerful format, and any features that cannot be represented in a regular XM file will be lost during the conversion process.

Identifying a couple of tracks to get in touch with their authors to get the albums taken down.

Celestial Fantasy = Celestial Fantasia by BeaT
Behind the Stars = BBQ with Mosquitos by Lemonade
Teardrops = Cyber City by Nighthawk
Maniacs = Train of Truth by Jeroen Tel, Laxity, Drax
Converted = Convert by Anubis

I contacted BeaT, Lemonade, Nighthawk and Jeroen Tel. I have no contact info for Anubis.
