Software Showcase / XMPlay users...
« on: August 17, 2007, 22:21:47 »
...have you ever wanted systray icons to control XMPlay playback like in Winamp? i switched from Winamp to XMPLAY and i didn't find any method to do this.
Therefore, i programmed a little utility (NOT a plugin...), if you want to have a look at it, check https://www.un4seen.com/forum/?topic=7463.0 ... :)

btw, this is how it will look like (The systray, not XMPlay)! note that you may create as many icons as you want...

Sampling / Re: Good sources for samples
« on: August 10, 2007, 18:00:49 »
This is always a hard question, of course. But, if you were selling a CD with tunes made with samples from commercial CDs, someone could theoretically rip these, too. And I know some old MODs (and I also made some myself) that contain samples from sample CDs. I mean, Sample CDs arent' there because they look nice if you put them in your cupboard! They exist so you can use them! As long as you don't put half of the collection into one mod, i guess it's ok (for me... :) ) - And if you don't think so, buy yourself a synthesizer and rip the sampels - those are "public domain" anyways...

a quite remarkable IMO is the TMA Waveworld collection. You can download it via torrent at the TMA Tracker. most of the samples are quite good. You can also get some samples from my website. For drum sounds, try this page. Look at these forums, there are some links to some rather good sites, but i don't know if all are still working.

MilkyTracker Feature Requests / Re: MPTM Support
« on: August 05, 2007, 15:22:00 »
Modplug has an internal module converter. You can convert MPTM to MOD, XM, S3M and IT, but of course, some features will be lost by converting modules.

Tracking / Re: MOD: Funk Repeat

oh, okay, i never felt comfortable with XM Format, i thought that the Exx effects are the same like Sxx in IT files. S2x is unused and i checked, it's used for syncing modules to BASS.DLL callback functions.

i didn't even say that modplug has good support for oldschool formats ;D but supports even more formats than XMPlay, that's for sure.
And i think XmPlay reserved EFx for syncs, but it could also be E2x, i'm not completely sure...

Help me find that... / Dreamwave - Signs Of Existence
« on: August 02, 2007, 01:14:42 »
there are absolutely no signs of existance :D I can't find "Signs Of Existence" by Dreamwave on any popular archive - there are 4 tunes by him at modland, but not this one. I only found this tune at nectarine... does someone have it?  :'(
