Tracking / Easy & quick way to make a .MOD tune loop
« on: March 25, 2007, 22:15:42 »
You need to change the pattern data. In the last pattern, you have to go to the last row. you have to place a B00 (position jump to position 0) in a free effect column.

AFAIK amigas are able to handle floppys like recent PCs...

but modplug is a very well known tracker, many people are using it, and when then new version is public (which may take a while), many people will use the new format for sure, i tell ya :)

Hi, finally, there's a new module format coming with OpenModplug. it's called MPTM (that's also the extension) and will be supported in OpenMPT 1.17.03.00 (it's still alpha).
So my question is, can you support the MPTM format in the near future? afaik it's still an IT-style format (maybe even the same, but with a few changes like the new tuning of the insturments)...

Another request:
VST plugins get popular these days, and even I use them now :) I know that it is too hard, maybe even impossible to upload them all at one place, but wouldn't it be a cool idea to SCAN the uploaded modules for used plugins? The needed plugins could be displayed at the song info page then and someone could also compile a list with the download sources to the freeware plugins...

edit: don't rush, the file format is not really public yet ;)

Tracking / Wanna make your own Chip Samples? Use vChip!
« on: March 05, 2007, 19:40:34 »
Thank you, I hope you'll have fun with this lil proggy ;) At the moment, I don't have much time to do any coding but if I find the time I will add some new cool features soon. Things I am currently planning:
- A DJ mode which can be used to play your chips LIVE to a tune of your choice. It will use the already known freq slider and a 2 octaves part of a piano.
- The file format allready supports it, but the editor doesn't know how to handle it: multiple waveforms in one file. if there *are* different waveforms in one fill, the first will be loaded at the moment.

i also don't think that this is a classic tracker product - it seems to be made with a newskool tracker or one of the programs mentioned above.

Next we'll get wasted (SURPRISE!) and compose you a modarchive theme song... by using only vocal samples ripped from backstreet boys. A word from here, another from there.

Gotta admit that I'm pretty interested in this idea  :D  Would the next weekend be ok?  :)
I've equipment for recording

I hadn't heard of plopbox, thanks for pointing it out.. Looks interesting :) I was thinking of using the fmod library (http://www.fmod.org/) and the java fmod wrapper (http://jerome.jouvie.free.fr/) for actually playing the mods.

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend FMOD for a mod player software. Of course, it's a great lib, but it isn't as compatible as f.e. BASS (which has a better modplug support):...

i love the new comment system, but i think you've already figured that out, m0d ;)
it's very cool to see what others think about modules (e.g. your modules) and also to compare your opinion to theirs.
