The Lobby / Re: Tracker music in modern games

Sure, but what I mean is that they most probably didn't have any creative input into what kind of music format was going to be used. But what you said - it doesn't really apply here. We are talking about a game made with the original Build engine that 3D Realms made their games with in the mid-90s (Duke Nukem 3D etc) - it's not like this is a triple-A release but a hommage to 90s shooters, and a very accurate one as well.

I know this is one of the rare, unexpected cases, so it's best to not look a gifted horse in the teeth.

Perhaps there's tracker music in indie games but this is a big publisher
The publisher has nothing to do with that.

Big publishers usually have bigger ambitions and bigger budgets than independent developers, so...

MpjV collaborated with me to make:

Just A Cool Tune

It's even spotlit. Thanks, kind screener.

Does the game have credits?

Look what I made! / Me And The Bois Song

I made a Me And The Bois song.

Okay, so it's more of a remix of the 1960's Spiderman theme, but I did it.

I think the line between Gen 1 and Gen 2 is much more blurry than you think.

Some programs you call 'Gen 1' like Fast Tracker 1 and Scream Tracker are DOS programs, even though you consider Gen 2 to be the 'DOS-era'.

Be There is actually 'Shedroid' by Strobe.

This was originally made before my Telephone collab with him, so it's technically my first collab in terms of development, but it wasn't finished. Until now!

Here it is:

It's pretty simple, though.

Volume column max: 64 (applies to all effects)
Effect column max: FF

Ticks are like speed, but they change specifically how many ticks occur during each row, which changes how certain effects like slide effects and arpeggios function. BPM is a way to change the speed of the song without affecting those effects at all.
