speeches in songs
« on: July 16, 2007, 02:21:12 »

i think believe.xm by acidsoul and gammis is a really great song, and the speech in it sounds really cool. Idolatry.it by gargoyle is also a pretty neat song with a speech in it.
what do you think about (long) speech samples in a song?

to be honest, there are much better examples for speech and vocals in modules. you should try xerxes's tunes "the bell", "picture of her" and "marie". the vocals in "marie" are A-W-E-S-O-M-E, "picture of her" is also one of my all-time favourites and "the bell" is also a pretty nice tune. i know a lot of modules with lyrics, most are rather bad, but i also know some other pretty nice examples. i'll post more if they come to my mind / playlist :)

other modules with good lyrics i can currently thinks of are "blue particles" and "I am way one son".

I remember this dutch metal singer who one day decided to start making "dance" and modules. Since Rikimbo was a bit unsure of whether to let those in or not, he asked me for help. I listened to it, laughed my arse of, pulled a red flag and went and made a cover. ;D

Let's see where my super-funnay cover is...

heh...personally, I hate long speaches in modules...or music in general, really...
with the only exception I can think of being "Behold the Winged Cathedral"....which is not a module...and really it's a few tiny statements creatively looped about

I do like, however, chopped up vocals...like in Xerxes's "linguistics" :)
(...how is that not on the archive?)
