Hiding mods text info.
« on: September 26, 2009, 09:15:57 »

Hi all;

I want to hide some old uploads because they contain adress info in the internal mod text.

The sensetive info directly turns up when someone write in google my name.

I saw in the modarchive page text is hidden, but i think google can read    through modarchive and our files.

Can someone help?
how we can to hide te sample text for google or is possible re-upload  this file without this personal data, in order to not show personal data to all the world with the associated problems?

Lot of thanks!

Google should not read module files. Since the text is not shown on our website at all, I cannot help you there. I don't know if the text has been removed before - if that's the case, Google might still have an old version of that page in their cache. Since you didn't provide a link to the Google query, I can't check what's going wrong here. You can send it via PM if you don't want your name to be public here.

Hello,
as I suspected, there is some outdated version of those sites in the Google cache. The sample texts must have been removed a while ago, but the old sites are still in their cache. We can't do anything about that, you will just have to wait until Google caches a newer version of those sites.
