Comparison of tracking programs
« on: October 14, 2013, 11:38:13 »

For two months, I have been using MilkyTracker (even though I have not made a single song with it) and I have thoughts on trying out other available tracker programs. The question is though... is there any difference between them? That is, do they operate the same way? Well, the obvious different would be file formats you save your song in. We know that MilkyTracker saves things in XM, ScreamTracker as S3M, ImpulseTracker as IT and so on. Just not sure if they work the same or are there other differences amongst them.

Well, there is basic "tracker" concept which all tracker programs obviously have in common. Apart from that, the look&feel is often very different, and effect commands and features are different. The only way to find out is to try them. ;)
