Is there a list of effects anywhere?
« on: December 16, 2009, 01:58:37 »

Google is failing me. Is there a list of effects somewhere? Ages ago I remember seeing on for FastTracker and book marking it, but I've since lost that computer. All I remember is that E60 set a pattern repeat point, and E64 would repeat from that point 4 times. The E60 command doesn't seem to work in MilkyTracker, though, and I don't remember any of the other commands.

Is there an effects list or something like that around here?

Here's an effect list from the 8bc wiki (great wiki btw). Hope you'll find what you need here:

Thanks for the link. I had actually already visited that page (I've been doing a ton of Google searching), but they don't have much info on the commands. For instance, all they say about the loop command is "Exy: Extended MOD Commands".

One thing that would really be helpful is knowing what effects set MilkyTracker uses. It's the same set as FastTracker, right? Does it deviate from this command set in any way?

Protip: Check MilkyTracker.html in your installation directory or online.

Thank you for the link to the online manual. I would have appreciated the tip much more without the roll-eyes, though.

Pro tip: The file MilkyTracker.html which came with my installation includes no such information on effects.

I should maybe have added another smiley. It wasn't an all-serious roll-eyes. :)

But ok, my bad. Obviously it is not the case but there really SHOULD be very little difference between the online and bundled manuals. Somebody with more control over the matter must have disagreed.

I'm no Milky user so I don't really update this software or anything, but I use the effect list in the offline manual quite often for checking out FT2 bugs, and mine is about as detailed as the one that's available online. So it would seem that you're just having a rather outdated Milky package. Protip: Try upgrading! :P
