"One-shot" notes / ignore note off? (Solved)
« on: January 03, 2012, 00:32:40 »

Hi,

I was wondering, when playing instruments on MilkyTracker through the Keyboard or Midi, is it possible to make it so releasing the key doesn't terminate the sample playback?

So basically the note is triggered and played until it reaches the end of the sample? It would really have to be for certain instruments since some instruments loop and would play indefinitely.

Thanks!

EDIT:Figured it out, just had to go to the Instrument Editor, reduce the Fadeout on the instrument from "cut" to 000, and turn on the Instrument Envelope (the checkbox that just says "On") :)

Yeah, that'd be just about the only way to do it per instrument and have the setting saved in a module. To actually disable recording note offs, go to Config > I/O > Multichannel > Record key off: [ ].
