As you might know, Nectarine is down again. We have the database with the list of artists and songs, but we don't have the files. I have downloaded the modarchive files from torrent, and now I'd like to match the author/song pairs we have in necta database with their corresponding files from modarchive (in case that applies, as there are a lot of songs that are not found here)

I'd like to ask for an API key in order to do some testings and see if what I want to do is possible. I won't be doing much requests at first, as I'll be doing testing. I don't think I'll reach the API limit.

Quite honestly I don't think using the API would be the right approach here, since most matching tracks would most probably not have an artist association, the artist might have a different name on both sites, and track titles might also be somewhat different. If you just want to match artist/song names, I honestly think that you won't get very far. I suppose an anonymized database dump just contaning the most important columns for each track might be more useful, but even than I really don't think you would get very far with it. I can prepare such a dump but would take a few weeks as I'm in the process of moving.

Indeed that would be a much better alternative, as it would allow me to use regular expressions to try to match names as best as I can.

Can you please specify the exact data you are interested in?
ModArchive ID, song title, filename, guessed artist, modarchive artist?

Yes, actually, the fields you listed should be enough:

song title, filename, guessed artist, modarchive artist

ModArchive ID should not be necessary, but having it just in case wouldn't hurt.
