Trout 1.0.6 b76 Free Win32 Audio & Tracker Files Support-
« on: November 22, 2020, 17:27:25 »

Just found this...Has now become my sample & tracker explorer for loading a folder style browsing...

Still have XMPlay as default though...

For whatever reason the tracker files (MOD XM IT S3M) just sound better in this than XMPlay...WTH

Note - There are some other audio stuff there as well as non-audio check it out...

Have been using the 'Spews' Wallpaper Changer which is quite good as you can have it pause changing when a certain EXE is running...(Some apps freeze or crash when wallpaper is switched underneath)...

Just for your information, that player is based on BASS.DLL, which is the same playback engine as XMPlay. If it sounds better to you, then it's just a matter of setting up XMPlay using the same settings as that player. The version of BASS.DLL that comes with that player is 10 years old, though, so it will be missing a lot of playback fixes that have been added to BASS and XMPlay since then.

OK then...Thanks for sorting that out...

Another possibility is that perhaps by my optimizing XMPlay for the common MP3 I have made it a crappy module player...

Weighing this in I think I will still keep my XMPlay settings for MP3 play & still use Trout for modules-samples as it is good 'out-of-the-box' and I like the 'Clear list & select new folder' option as well as the list-detail view which I can size down out of the way as well...

And this is not even taking in account my particular machine & OS which are probably worlds different from what others are using. I have 8 machines & there are differences I can attest to...

Anyways, enough verbiage I still don't want to detract from SKWIRE's OTHER software which could come in handy for some...

Have a Good One...
