I personally don't have a problem with the ST-XX samples. I can see the appeal in using the actual samples that were in common use in '80s Amiga demos in a remix of a song that was also popular back in the 1980s. That being said, the rhythm is boring and inaccurate, the recreation of the melodies are also terribly inaccurate and the creative liberties taken don't fill the void. The entire remix is too repetitive in general. Also, the hi-hat sample used here should have been played at a higher pitch. That is definitely possible in .MOD format, and certainly was even in 1987. |

This is a really nice ScreamTracker 3 recreation of Castlevania 2's Bloody Tears. I really like these characteristic Drillimation samples, too. One thing though, what does any of this have to do with Lucky Star and Konata Izumi? |

This is a really cool song. The first time I listened, I thought this was an Amiga .MOD conversion. I like the feel of the song, with the strings and the cool bass and ST-XX style drums. |

I never thought this song would ever be remixed here on the ModArchive, but here it is. This remix is a wonderful Impulse Tracker adaptation of the song, and is a bit accurate for a sample-only-no-envelope IT. This remix also has an efficient file size, which is also amazing. |

I find this Amiga remix of the Journey to Silius theme to be a bit hard to listen to. The samples are good, but there are too many wrong notes and weird timings in the composition of the rearrangement that don't even work by themselves. Also, the bass is borderline non-existent, with nothing to back up the guitars. |

This one is a little better than the Banishment Blade remix also made by Susumu Takajima, but some of the same problems are in this song. It's hard to tell the lead apart from the chords due to the mixing, and at the intro it is hard to tell channel 1 apart from channel 3(channel 3 should have been panned opposite to channel 1). For the rest of the song, the 'bass' instrument is too high-pitched to even be a bass, there being no instrument in the actual bass range of pitches in those sections, making them sound too empty. At least the drums are more centred this time. |

The song has mixing issues. I can't really hear the bass at all, the lead is too quiet, the different chords don't seem to mix together, there is no clear hierarchy at all when it comes to the mixing. It's a real shame, too, because the remix has a lot of potential. The original song this remix is based on is also pretty meh, and this remix does build on it quite a bit. It's just a shame that the compositional refinements are ruined by the poor mixing. |

This is good, but it seems that this NSF-to-S3M converter program forgot the DPCM. Ahh, I'll give it that the conversion and the program were made back in the 1990s when emulation was new. |

This song is awesome. It's a shame Maxx tried to steal it. I really like the strong bass kick. I also love the ambient feel of the backing. I don't know what subgenre of trance this can be considered, but I'll definitely call it trance. The bass sounds like a fast TB-303 pattern, which is also kind of cool. This is the kind of song that I would buy in a CD if I existed back in the late 1990s. |

This is a pretty typical Amiga song. This song uses some lame samples of Yohann Martin Novarro crying, and it seems the author just slapped those samples into their song just to make it more topical. If it weren't for those unfunny lame samples, this song would just be okay. But since there's not much to this song other than using some guy's voice, I can't really rate this any higher than a 5. I do think giving this a 1 is ridiculous, so I'll increase the rating to compensate. |

I really loved this one since I was 10. I liked the 90s-style electronic dance beats, and the combination with the upbeat melodies. I also like the contrast between the gritty synth samples and the heavy focus on melodies. It doesn't use any XM features at all, so was this originally a .mod? Was this made in 2005, or before? |

I first heard this song, strangely enough, in a WebGL tech demo game called 'Teach Me To Fly'. I later learned its name when it was used as the loading song in an animutation by Dwedit called 'Suzukisan!'. What a strange way to discover such an awesome song like this. Nonetheless, I then discovered it was an S3M by reading up on its Fanimutation Wiki article that it used to be an OpenMPT example song. And now we're here. This song is amazing. It's structured well. The percussion is very great with that echo-ish snare and that kick and those cymbals are cool as well. That droning bass, as well as that little square-wave part of the rhythm, adds to the electronic feel of the song. This feel is as if the song was part of some suspicious computer program, but for some reason, you want to keep listening. The melody is a bit too repetitive, though, and nothing is really added to it, and there's no extension to it. However, on top of all of this, the entire S3M is only 20.8 kilobytes. This was not only very good back in 1995 when songs like these were being passed around on floppies and BBSes and the early internet, but it's also good now as downloading this song would be practically no issue on today's hundreds-of-gigabytes-big hard drives or very fast 4G wi-fi. |

I really love modules like these in a way that's hard to describe. I think charm has something to do with it. Never heard the original prior to downloading this, but the moment I listened, I know I'd like it. I guess there's something about the NES' frequency table that this module preserves that gets me, maybe from spending a good amount of my childhood playing NES roms on VirtualNES, a website long gone that used to host NES games and allow you to play them without downloads. |

This song just isn't good to listen to or have. It's almost all just premade samples and nothing more. Considering the fact the author has 800 modules similar to this, and they're all pregenerated samples, this is likely generated by a computer program. The samples in question have issues regarding mixing and the percussion instrument is like nails on a chalkboard. Look, I am pretty sure it's hard to make a bot to make these modules in the first place. It doesn't mean this module is good by itself, which is my main point here: this module isn't really good by itself, and it's very likely generated rather than tracked by hand. 'Quality over quantity' seems to be the mantra here regarding all of the modules this author has made. |

This is the worst remix of Jeroen Tel's Robocop 3 NES (and C64) title theme. The song is full of earrape, there are way too many J7C commands (even the bass is subject to this J7C overuse), the stereo separation is unbearable, there's one point where the lead's too high-pitched, and that's not even mentioning the wrong notes(the intro is full of wrong notes). The remix is pretty old, from 2002, so I am glad Darkman007 has vastly improved since then. It is very unbelievable that this guy started out like this and got way better. |

The lead should be quieter, because I can barely hear anything else under it. In order 6, not only are there inaccuracies, but the inaccuracies in question affect the melody's direction, making the issue more major than you might think. Aside from that, keep up the good work. |

This is a cool and impressive song, using pre-rendered samples consisting of multiple samples rendered into 1. It's a great techno (trance?) track on it's own, too. The high-quality sample rates of said pre-rendered samples push the Amiga's limits, too. Overall, M.C. Spicy did a great job. |

This remix is almost very faithful to the original song. There's 1 major thing that ruins it, and that is the mixing. I can barely hear the bass here. To be honest, the original Pokemon generation 2 version of the song had a quiet bass too, and it wasn't good there, so... By itself, the mixing's not good and that's all I have to say. |

The percussion really ruins this. The way it is done is with 1 noise sample and it sounds more like TV static. I know the Game Boy used noise channel for percussion, but that had envelopes and stuff and different pitches. Here, it's just one noise sample and it barely sounds like percussion at all. I am aware that this module is old, being from 2013 or possibly even before that. |

There's some signs that this is probably a beginner's song. Some parts look a bit unpolished, but it's not bad. The samples are taken from Monday by Random Voice, but there's nothing wrong with stealing samples. After all, they're just samples. Especially extremely tiny looped samples. It's a good start, and definitely worth waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than a 2/10. |

This song is meh. It looks like it is attempting to be something Strobe would've made. It sounds like a typical keygen song to me, nothing bad, but not impressive. There's a lot of pattern loops and pattern jumping, but I've seen better examples. Maybe I'm desensitised, but there's nothing special here in my opinion. The pattern jumping and looping commands do not make it impressive, so it's overall average. |

This song just sounds too dry, especially without echoes. The arpeggios are barely hearable, and they might be too low-pitched as well, since they are barely distinguishable from the bass if it weren't for them being arpeggios. The lead instrument is good, but it does not save this piece. |

The drums are really lacking here. They're just very short and weak, which is not something you would want on a 'rockish' song. These drum samples do not work, especially for house. Also, I think the bass is not low-pitched enough. The samples just don't go together and therefore, this song just really isn't good at all. |

That being said, even with the EFx command, this song doesn't have much to it. There's barely any percussion and the song eventually loops only a small portion.
I wonder if this module was made for an Amiga cracktro or a size compo or something, since it is so small.
