Ooohh.. this track is a Remix of the well know cotton eye joe by rednex. The artist has ripped loops from the song and added a few of their own samples, a bass drum and a snare drum (which are used quite poorly). The major concern of the song is what the artist has actually done to improve/change the song. The only difference i could tell was that the sample quality has dropped considerablly, but besides that it is relativly the same. The artist oviously took the time to record the samples and fit them into a song, so that deserves some credit, and if you like the original song then you might like it. The biggest problem of this song is the lack of originality and the speed change halfway through where instead of making a new melody or something the artist just decided to spped it up, now this is something that you really must avoid. As for the reversed main speech samples. Don't bother trying to cover up the repeated main theme like that. Actually make something that will make it less repetative by chagning the chorous or putting ina guitar solo or something like that, be original! |

The piano seems a bit plain, but the appears to be nothing directly wrong with it, except when playing by itself at the beggining it is obvious that the baseline does not fit. The are some nice effects, such as panning and sliding used on the lead guitar. The samples used, such as the thunder/loud bang noise do not work at all, it is in the right note but is basicly a poor sample. The beat is quite fitting and nice, it's a pity the artist used a loop for the bulk of it. The panning though on the strings particularly and the bassline really lifts the song, a shame about the sudden ending, doesn't do the song any justice. |

Althogether this song is average- it has everything a song needs, but it doesn't have anything that makes you go "WOW!" The beat is a bit lacking through out most of the song, but the technical details make up for that. The techical detail the composer had used in the song is what brings the song to "above average" music. The virbrato and sliding on the guitar samples, especially the solo's is fantastic! The song sounds very porfessional in that aspect but the samples are of realitivly poor quality not to mention extremly high pitched and very annoying. |

This song has a fairly good feel to it, although parts of the song (namely the beat) don't sound all that crash hot by themselves, take the intro for example. The song also drags on a bit- doen't really go anywhere until the second half when some wierd acid samples become dominant. In my opinion the acid bit is way out the door! But generally a slightly below average song. The acid parts really don't suit the song, the funky style which kept the song above water is some what lost towards the second half. Also, the ending really doesn't work- the song just cuts off and about a second later a guitar twang, now this may have worked had the twang not been 2 octaves to low. |
