Average piano track. Reasonably well done but doesn't really sound like it's even using all the channels availabe in a 4-track mod. As a result it seems a bit 'thin'. |

Like the author says, just a simple track thrown together over a couple of days. Listenable but bland. |

Really pretty darn cool slow-paced trance piece. Good use of effects, nicely done segues between sections, deserves a full review. |

Ends too abruptly. 'I vote for . . .' the chip party?? Too funky for most most politicians to handle, but unfortunately that's not saying much. |

Simple track, strong bass and shades of Kraftwerk all in one track. A good idea, had potential, but this implementation lacks any real spark. Good for a beginner's track. |

A silly version of a silly song. Stops abruptly without actually finishing the tune, but it's still the best of the three muppet show tunes currently in the archive. But that's not saying enough to save it from a 2. |

Disjointed, out of tune and out of time in places - sometimes both together! Just about recognisable. And the tempo is too slow. Summary: Oh dear. |

Passable voice samples. Fast tempo, rather aggressive drum beat overpowers the rest of the track. Competent, but not very memorable. A random download, and not my favoured genre, so I may be being unfair. |

See also comments on part i. Starts with a 'darker, gloomier intro', then a similar snare drum beat to the first track starts. Again, a fantasy tinge to it. Quite a good counterbalance to part i. |

Enjoyable synth piece. Starts with a quite cool fantasy/ethereal intro, then the pace picks up a bit and a rapid snare drum beat continues for most of the rest of the track. Competently executed. Part II continues in similar vein. |

OK piano piece at the start and end. Airy, but not very dreamy. Liked key change in final minute and then the slowdown from the track's rather too-fast earlier pace. Cutting 30 seconds out of the middle and slowing it down slightly would make a better piece. But it's OK. |

Sounds a lot like mywonder.mod, actually, but is 16 track vs mywonder's 4(!). Good fast dance track. Review is fair comment - it would be better with more of a melody. |

A single musical motif (maybe two) stretched out into an entire track. Good background music, well-implemented technically, but not so good if viewed as a musical composition. Also appears to 'break up' into incoherence at a couple of points. |

Slow, smooth, mellow. Doesn't really go anywhere, then slows down and stops. :-) Maybe a bit /too/ bland. You could listen to it all day. Good background music. |

Medium-paced 4-track mod. Halfway between mellow and melancholy. Comes to a complete stop at a couple of points, then picks up; good musical trick, fits the piece well. Deserves amore in-depth comments, but I can't think what else to say. Category? Soft synth? Very soft rock?? |

A good piece. Cleverly carries the same musical theme from one instrument set to the next. Starts with a sort of synchopated clockwork effect, which segues into a drum and synth carrying the same rhythm . . . and then is that someone playing a stone hot water bottle?? :-) Generates lovely feeling of fast-paced paranoia. Spooky city techno. |

A medley of different pieces. You will recognise musical fragments from several of Skaven's other material. Shades of Enya in one place; Catch that Goblin in another. But this isn't his best work, it's really more of a sampler, and a bit disjointed. |

Competent 4 track mod. Very 'generic'. There's nothing actually wrong with it, it just sounds the same as 75% of all late-80s/early 90s mods. No resemblance at all to anything by the Beach /Boys/, which I thought was a bit of a missed trick. |

Birds sing, church bells ring, then a boppy melodic track in the middle. At the end, the bells come back until the bell tower is blown up for some reason. So a bit of an odd mixture. Entertaining, but odd. :-) Apparently it was a demo soundtrack, so that may explain it. |

Slow, intentionally disjointed start (30s) builds up to a fast techno beat. Good selection of musical themes; shows just what can be done with just four channels. Very good for a 4-track tune. |

OK, but the tempo is a rather too slow and the song loops before the final "Shooooow!" Workmanlike, but uninspired. |
