Yes, NES.
But no, no samples ripped from games.
The PCM sampled bongos were split from Freesound number 89608 by
marleneayni, which was CC0-licensed, processed first in FamiTracker,
converted to NES format delta modulated samples and back to standard PCM.
The noise was also generated in FamiTracker, and I blew its volume up by
65534% (32767% twice) to make it 1-bit. (It's stored as 8-bit though.)
The 25% and 12.5% pulse tones were also generated there. I tweaked it a
little bit in OpenMPT's sample editor.
The triangle tone is entirely generated within OpenMPT. I just drew a
len 4 wave, converted it to 16-bit, upsampled it 16x using linear
interpolation, and then further with no interpolation. I decreased its
volume to 6.25% (25% and then 25%), converted it to 8-bit, and blew it up
again by 1600%.
